I purchased the big bottle today and wore it in the snow. I was surprised how the wind carried the smell as I walk and yes that scent trail! It was deliciously good. I was impressed and it does perform better than By the Fireplace. The dry down is surprisingly great! Love it!

elite is my fav. i have tried most of these... icon smells the same as so many others.. it is a dirty orange bergamot vetiver akin to terre de hermes which does this better if not the best imho. the absolute smells similar to others in the oud leather category

Hey Max - what Vetiver Scent would You recommend for someone who usually goes for Terre d‘Hermes Parfum as a Signature? I don‘t like those soapy and too clean or barbershop-ey Vetivers Like Grey Vetiver, Sauvage Parfum etc. Thanks :)

though originaly it is marketed as a female scent , Chanel No 19 (both EDP and EDT) is one of the best one if you are upto some classy. No woman wear it anymore and it is the nicest adrogun scent (not in the "neurtal unsexy way but rather a cigarete smoke after sex in a French new -wave movie from the 60's 70's sense of the word) . The male scents of the last decade are more syrupy and sweet then this one. If you are upto something that is marketed for mEn The new Guerlain Parfum version is better that I had expected and no matter how old it is the EDP version of Sycomore is such a nice one (I like Encre Noire but it is not that same as it is trendy to say on these days). PP or EDt or even Intense Vetiv. versions of TdH are good ones .

Love the Holy Grail Format! Might i ask as to why you missed some of the well known brands, Creed Original Vetiver for one? Patchouli, both types would be nice to see.

My top 3 Vetivers are 1) Kilian Dark Lord 2) Nishane Sultan Vetiver 3) Chanel Sycomore

A wonderful list here, including some that I need to get my nose on! Vetiver is my favorite note, and I've owned and smelled many over the years, but so far I can't find any that I prefer over Roja Vetiver Parfum. Not the Parfum Colgone nor the Extrait (which both have great facets); the Parfum is perfection to me.

If I want a vetiver scent (not too pricey) that also bears some citrus and aromatic notes, would a Red Vetiver by Montale be a good choice? Or any better alternatives, preferably containing a cedar wood scent?
