Sounds like you are right on the brink of doing it. Often the most common error is taking on shots that you may be able to hit 1 in 20 (for sake of distance, pushing for green etc.) instead of playing a shot you can do maybe 19/20 (playing a comfortable lay up, playing for safe space near green). Keep at it, don’t worry about score too much it will come 👍

Great video. Loved the tips. One tip that might also help is that par 4 where missing left is worst and missing right is okay, you could have tee'd up on the right side of the tee box, taking the tree on the left side out of the equation and allowing more fairway to be visible. This is something that really has helped me before and I hope it can help someone else
@JackPlaysGolf3 күн бұрын

Great to see you popping up in the comments again (one of the originals 👍) - I think I probably didn’t make it clear in the edit - was double on first par 5 (as the putt was given despite me missing the short putt but I will use the tame excuse of not lining that up 😝) and then hole 15 par 5 first 3 shots on camera then next 3 off camera for the bogey. Think it adds up but may have looked at it too many times at this point 😂. Yep the club had great footage to use along with the awesome weather on the day 10/10

Once you have a decent swing and mostly consistent, then breaking 90 is doable. Some folks are missing their approaches multiple times.
@JackPlaysGolf5 күн бұрын
Consistent is key (most people go wrong by trying shots they can do 1 out of 10 opposed to the 9 out of 10 - the 1 out of 10 shot does look good when it comes off mind 😂) - people also often think once they have broken 100 once breaking 90 is a couple weeks away 😂
@Malikot9115 күн бұрын
@@JackPlaysGolfthat was me couple of summers ago😂. I also used to swing full speed and power all the time but now I probably give it 70-80%. After developing a repeatable simple swing, I started working on 60-90 yard approach shots.

@@KieranGreaney sorry might have confused it a bit there - you are supposed to be just after the ball line 👍 my issue was my divot started 3-4 balls after the line (which is a tad too late and at a guess why I can often hit just the bottom grooves on the club)

A 2 iron, for people that can’t break 100 or hit their driver reliably? Hmmm, why not a 3 hybrid or 5 wood?

@@lylejohnson5549 yep this was more biased off my experience at the time as it worked for me then. 5W would definitely be my recommendation now after having one. But my go to advice for breaking 100 would be use what club works for YOU from the tee and keeps you in play (don’t feel you have to hit a club like driver because everyone else is if you know yours is going to be 3 from the tee 😂) - maybe it’s time to do an updated one after more experience

Love your videos Jack. I think at this stage you should actually get some instruction. You could film the process, it would be great content for your channel. You've obviously got tons of video of your swing. I had a careful look at your swing. I expect some of your issues off the tee are to do with your arm structure. As soon as you start your backswing you are collapsing. Both your lead and trail arm are bending. Particularly your trail arm. It bends almost immediately in your takeaway. This is quite common for amateurs. The top of your backswing is also very steep. Almost vertical. Have a good look at any top pros arm structure at just 9 o'clock in the backswing, then compare that to yours. If you can improve this I'm sure you'll see significant gains. This video of Rory is something to benchmark off kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmS8nKaAmcqdpck Keep grinding.
