ProV1 may not be the best ball for your average golfer. ProV1 is meant for higher swing speed golfers. A 2 piece ball with a lower compression rating can work better. To break 90 you don’t even need to hit driver. Hit the club that will get you in play.

@@nealhamamura4263 yep in play over distance for sure. I feel the use of a premium ball does help (from personal experience, whether it’s partially placebo also) - but trying to get under 90 the ball isn’t a major factor but just noted it could help someone get a bit of confidence 👌

Beautiful views you have there. Not sure if you have had someone look at your grip or had lessons, but please!!! fix the grip. People under estimate how important the grip is and think...I will hold any old way and it will work. Looks like it's in the palm of your hand and not the fingers and you get no wrist hinge. Also the down swing is soooo steep you keep topping the tee shots. Look at the 36:00 minute tee shot and the down swing is almost vertical and it just gets the bottom of the driver. Good luck mate!
@JackPlaysGolf
@JackPlaysGolf 22 күн бұрын
Yep the views were outrageous. This round was a few months back but I do have some grip stuff we have tried to address. Will actually put your comments forwards on the next lesson. One thing I certainly have is lots of possible ingrained bad habits. The zero wrist hinge is another one haha. Hopefully get there slowly but surely. Thanks for the feedback

Playing Golf on a course isn't going to lower your handicap, from looking at your swing and results you actually need to find a big field and practice more, basically start again and get all the basics right.
@JackPlaysGolf
@JackPlaysGolf Ай бұрын
@@tanginicholls207 thanks for the feedback - I do have a coach and going over certain things (I’m not really desperate to get to single digits that’s just the goal - lot of my practice is better than course so getting out on course helps show the coach where I’m going wrong etc). Couple of the earlier weeks I put in more practice clips so will try to include a bit more (coming weeks I was unable to practice that much due to work and other commitments but I still try to get a round in as ultimately I enjoy it 👌)

Sweet as, but yeah hiring a coach can limit your wallet but if you can afford it all good luck to you, Golf has soo many variables on any day, you could be hitting drivers, irons all good but putting could damage your score card, having your game on lock within 100meters helps , but yeah practice more off the course , then knowing you can hit 10 decent shots in a row definitely helps your confidence, Golf is all about misses, the less misses the better, even the Pros say they're lucky to hit 1 great shot during a round, I played Golf almost 25 years ago, I got to 9.0 but I was just a social player I didn't take it too seriously... I've probably played 4 rds in the past 5 years, not good at all, it's all about the 'feel'... I practice a little if I get a chance. So yeah good luck and all the best on your journey while you're still young,
@JackPlaysGolf
@JackPlaysGolf Ай бұрын
@@tanginicholls207 yep agree with that for sure - this particular video where I just played 2 rounds probably doesn’t show my normal mindset. The comment about the misses is so true and you only really improve by making your worst shot not so bad 😂. I’ve certainly noticed the practice I did on putting has been the best for my score and have been noticing a couple rounds now where I haven’t played good but scored well. Certainly a social player myself really - great to hear your story and thanks for the tips - great for all high handicappers and casuals 👌

Takapuna is my home course. I've been tracking you progress with interest. Prior to covid shut downs I was on a 17.7 HC. But since then I've had less chance to play down to once a month, and my HC went out to 23.5! Since August I've played at least once a fortnight. Its made a huge difference. I'm now back to a 17.1 and consistently scoring in the 80's again. Keep with it, you will come right. Im no pro, but to me you seem very toe down on your shots (shaft too upright). Especially with my driver I try to keep my hands lower, I'd rather go left than right and this helps me. Its a shame we wont see you at Takapuna again.

Cheers mate on getting too single digit hcp.

some pointer..... take away , arms and wrists are in strange position and during impact (best seen on your iron shots) both your arms are not fully extended. This is swing mechanics and where your issues with consistency come from...... chipping needs drastic improvement. Which technique you end up choosing, is a personal preference. I strongly recommend the Thai-spinner on short chips 0-25y (decreases catastrophic shots by a lot) and lofty chips with load of shoulder rotation 25-70y....... and thirdly I would strongly recommend a armlock putter / style
@JackPlaysGolf
@JackPlaysGolf Ай бұрын
@@kampfzwergxp yep the bent arms at impact is something we are working to get rid of, like you said only forces inconsistency. Chipping is one of those where a few months back was real solid but then couple of confidence issues dropped in which I need to work through (will look at the Thai spinner 👍). For now I think I will stick with my putter as it’s been saving me for scores quite often 😂 maybe once other parts are smoothed out I will look to putting. Thanks for the feedback 👏

Awesome video, mate. Not sure if you want any advice from some random on KZbin but I'll offer it anyway. Your grip is the elephant in the room. The club needs to be much lower in your fingers. Not in your palm. The grip you are using is really strong and stops any wrist movement. If I gripped like that, I'd hook every ball for sure. It's a good putter grip. Maybe why you are good at putting. Anyway, great to hear you have a coach now. You'll be in single digits in no time.
