Chet has proven himself to be a fantastic partner to Thunder and has fathered and fledged 8 chicks in 3 years. He is a mighty eagle and it would be tragic to lose him at this young age. My heart breaks. At the same time, this is the harsh reality of nature. We don't know for sure, but it is likely that Chet drove Superman off, and now someone has tried to do it to him. We all love M15 at SWFL, but he fought Ozzie who died from those wounds. Nature can be very hard to watch. I do hope and pray Chet will pull through this.

Agreed, as great as it is to have all the technology available today. We also witness things that are not always easy to deal with. I have always admired the resilience of nature , and there’s a saying trust the Eagles. It has always been survival of the fittest and mother. Nature can be a cruel mistress, so to speak. 🦅🦅❤️

This is so sad. When a friend first sent me photos of him from, I honestly didn’t know what I was looking at; actually thought it was a subadult or something, and that the blood was simply darker feathers. Just terrible.

Hoping that he's going to be Ok! Seems to be alot of other Eagles around Some of the Nest this season. Was Really Hoping for a Kinda Quiet Season.

I live in Wisconsin. And we have a huge.Eagle population compared to 20 year’s ago. We have some good raptor centers, and very dedicated people , I think that there has been four releases already this year But last year I think there was about a dozen successful, rehabs and releases. it’s a very impressive number but unfortunately I think we will see a lot more territory disputes and so on. Just for reference, it’s probably two months ago already a raptor center north of me got four emergency calls within an hour all the Eagles had been hit by cars feeding on deer carcasses. Unfortunately we lost all of them. 😢

Yikes, that's a lot of bald eagles at min 6:25. I hope Chet is ok 🤞. He seems to have a lot of blood all over his head/face. 🙏 For a speedy recovery

Chet is my favorite eagle. He is so precious. I will be extremely sad if something happens to him 😢 Thunder is very fierce. I am sure she will support Chet in the battle and defend their home! Thank you for the update

This nest was my 1st nest to watch for a long while before I ventured into the Eagle world, watching other nests! It's so emotional for humans to have happy tears at one nest and sad tears at another all at the same time! I hope Chet will be OK and just needs time to stay still and heal. It's so sad to me to see him not going to perch tonight with Thunder and stay where he is. I seriously have seen more intruders at every nest this season and more battles this season than I've ever seen. It's wildlife and it can be beautiful and it also can be brutal

I’m one with u Michelle hoping that Chet will be alright😢. Sometime in Dec.2024, Eagle Country’s Blaze was limping for almost two weeks because of territorial battle too. I know this is nature but am kind of “attached” to this eagles and can’t help myself feeling 😢

I was at the live cam/chat and I was wondering if I was seeing things when I was looking At Akacheta earlier and I went ahead and asked if it was blood on the side of his face and a couple of people said yes and that he had to have been in some kind of fight with another bird (but I don’t know what kind of bird) and of course I went into worry mode and I was wishing I could do something for him too but I realized he is a wild Eagle and all I can do is pray for him and hope he will heal and be able to do his Eagle duties still too. God bless you Akacheta and one of my many favorite mom Eagles too Thunder too. Thanks Whimsy for putting out this video even though I don’t want to watch it. Hugs and love, Sue M.
