That’s a great point you’re making! But what about other nutrients? Vitamin C is only one of thousands of phytonutrients. Do we see a similar decline across the board for other chemicals? Vitamin C is a bit of a diva and does break down with heat etc.

Local farmers don't use pesticides? Since when?
@aliciacantin79932 ай бұрын
The ones that go to certain farmers markets can't, as many markets are regulated to organic produce/practices only, I believe this was what she meant?

Nice! You can start where you are in world! Here is a bunch of free inspiration to get started: www.regenerateyourreality.com/regenerativeeducation
9:56 you really don't need a small plot of land. All you need is a spot in one's room or wherever they're at and do hydroponics. It's only 2 sq ft of space and it can be stacked!
@RegenerateYourReality Жыл бұрын
So true, growing hydroponics is fantastic! Also small gardens and sprouting!

@@RegenerateYourReality even if you can't grow your own food - you can take the seeds and even cuttings and cores from your food and give them to those who do grow - because they will grow your food for you. I give them to my local public library that has a seed collection. I don't have much ability to grow my own food - so I do that - trading seeds for food all the time!
@extropiantranshuman Жыл бұрын
@@RegenerateYourReality what I also do is have a plant sanctuary where I try to rescue cuttings that would've been thrown out and grow them. Then I share cuttings from it to other neighbors. Most of the time it's an edible plant, but I take in non-edibles for ground cover. That way if something happens to where you can't grow it anymore - everyone else is taking up where you leave off.

I really appreciate Jackson's honesty because I have struggled to make peace with the concept that big business, and even most businesses in general, cannot operate without the incorporation of certain systems that are inherently not sustainable... but the reality is that we have gotten ourselves into a way of functioning where reverting back to old ways fully is just not practical, or even possible. We can only go forward and do our best to hold the highest amount of integrity, like Jackson speaks of. But i appreicate his transparency about his intentions of growing and afmitting that it's for profit and not about sustainability. The question then is: just because something is done consciously, does that automatically make it ethical. The answer is obviously no, but this is where my perfectionist problem lies...no one is perfect...and some people care and some people try, which is better than not caring and not trying....but there are always going to be choices regarding ethics that sometimes honestly are not 100% in alignment with certain values, but they may be okay because they support other values. It's such a tricky thing to be a conscious human on this planet, but our consciousness and our existence at this point in human evolution is a gift...and the burdens we must bear are what I pray for every day.

Wholefoods used prison labor at the time Mikey wrote Conscious Capitalism... and they are partnered with Amazon, where employee conditions are borderline slave labor =/, this screams "profit over people" and not conscious. I hope Jackson and Natalia are paying well above mandated minimum wage to their local employees.

WoW, I guess I'll be the first to comment, nice work. Great ideas, great interview. Nice to see likeminded people living it and sharing the dream. I've met you before but I don't remember where. I used to live in the Seattle area for 17 years. I'm now in Southern Oregon and hoping to move to Ecuador to start a permaculture farm syntropic regenerative food forest and possibly a permaculture design company and school. It was nice to hearBollock Brothers mentioned. I grew up in the Okanogan highlands of eastern Washington. I grew up on a back to the land hippy community and have been around permaculture all my life.I grew up with Skeeter aka Micheal Pilarski. I've known him since I was three years old. I was planning to move to Costa Rica 12 years ago but I ended up in Mexico and then in southern Oregon.Some thoughts on your design would be to plant bougainvillea or thorny bamboo as a living fence that make great trellis for passionfruit and chayote.
