As I replied to the other comment, I do not like the name “Yah”, as I feel it may be a deception, and not God’s name. I do not see any Bibles with that name in it.

@derekk1 from the Hebrew writing its for years they have tried to cover up his true name and but God and lord and those are not names but title if you will study the true Hebrew writing you will find his name the holy scripture say you will know my name

No, this was around 20 years before the Geneva Bible. It is the 1537 Matthew Bible.

I was reading the first 3 chapters of Romans earlier today in the 1599, and quite enjoyed it. I have the 1560 facsimile, but I placed an order today for a 1599 facsimile copy. Should receive that in the next month or so. I don’t know how it will compare to the Matthew Bible, but I’m interested to see more.

@@realitywins6457 the font does take some getting used to, but once you do, it’s not that difficult to read. I believe the modern bibles have taken out much of the scriptures, and have changed them, and so that’s why I use these older translations.

I’ll quote starting from verse 36: (36) And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water, and the chamberlain said: See here is water, what shall let me to be baptized? (37) Philip said unto him: If thou believe with all thine heart, thou mayest. He answered and said: I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. (38) And he commanded the chariot to stand still. […] By the way, “let” in verse 36 means to restrain or keep from doing (something along those lines).

@@realitywins6457The biggest/longest deletion is the last twelve verses of Mark 16 (verses 9-20). Some might have it, but have notes saying something like the earliest manuscripts don’t have it, or it shouldn’t be in there, etc.. The modern bibles are largely based on Codex Vaticanus, so named because it was discovered in the Vatican, and Codex Sinaiticus, which many believe was a forgery. These modern bibles are also largely based on the work of Westcott and Hort, which were not Christians (and that’s being nice lol). I would advise you to research all this. And if you want to see more differences with the modern bibles, search for KJV-only videos. They will point out the corruptions in the modern bibles. I do not agree with them on the KJV-only stance though. I believe some of the older Bibles (especially the Matthew Bible) were better. 😅

“Y”s are often “I”s, the “S”s that look like an “f” are not actually an “f”, but they have the cross-line missing. And you can differentiate between the “b” and “v” by the tail of the letter. One is curved and one is more straight. You get used to it. 😆
