For the marshy spot around the Norwalk Islands, were you just going around blind casting until you found a school?

Just an amazing fight and I loved the candidness of your video! You really do show your win/lose moments of the battle. Any tuna fisherman can hear those moments. Just a great story here guys! Thanks for sharing and hope you have plenty more adventures to follow!

we catch these lil photon torpedoes down here in panama city florida. once i had a frozen cigar minnow with the bale open while paddling the kayak to get some line out.... heard a sound ive never heard before...turned around and found the source of the sound... it was line being torn off the spool of my battle 5k at a rate i did not think was possible. but these also make the very best shark bait for shore fishing.

Definitely if there aren’t huge waves. If the surf is big, you may wanna find a protected area

Shows the weakness of spinning gear. Back in the day my dad and I would nail 200lb yellowfins on a penn 113 loaded with 50 mono. Maybe try a Tranx for casting?

crazy that back in the 60's, 200 lbs was considered a football. 800lb giants were common, with some 1300+ lb monsters thrown in. beautiful fish!
