A remarkable symphony. It straddles both late Romantic and Modern at the same time. Every one of Carl Nielsen is symphonies is so different from each other. He really evolved. This is my favorite of the 6 Symphonies he wrote. He does not get performed enough.

This is my favourite Bach cantata and a fantastic performance from Hermann Prey and Kurt Thomas conducting the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra with Willy Gerlach [oboe] and Hannes Kastner [organ] and recorded at Thomas`s Church, Leipzig on the 1/1/1959. A fantastic recording.😊☺😇❤💯

Previn with Kostelanetz is incomparable, even a bit more fabulous than Oscar Levant also with Koselanetz which I treasured on 78 RPM as a boy.

Levant is a great artist. His Gershwin 2nd Rhapsody is incomparable and his Khachaturian Concerto among the best.@@bwsmyhero

Great performance by Bernstein and the NYP! Thanks for posting! Borodin's beautiful melodies rival those of the great Tchaikovsky and should be more widely known! In fact, Borodin's wonderful music was used/adapted to create the Broadway musical "Kismet" in the 1950's. Also, singer Johnny Mathis often includes a medley from "Kismet" in his performances!

A wonderful recording. The trumpet at the beginning of the second movement is so deliciously bluesy. Thanks much. This piece deserves a lot more exposure.

Geza Anda is magic the most musical artist one can imagine ! Karajan is wonderfully clear here in this dense score ! Has Karajan done no. 2 I know Anda does all 3 !
