Back in 2014 I bought this lens before I even got a fulll frame Nikon, using it on my D300s. I then bought my D810 in 2015 and have been using the two ever since. I don't buy and sell cameras like day traders trade stocks as I see many You Tube photographers doing.. I have heard people say the 20mm f1.8g is sharper, which I own, but in my experience the 16-35 is just as sharp with less distortion at 20mm.

@frederikboving
@frederikboving 13 күн бұрын
Hi, the D3400 has a cropped sensor (aps-c) and this full frame lens will give a focal length of 85x1.5 = approximately 128mm. Some will find this too long for portrait photography. And you will only be using the center part of the glass!

A lot of people should know that an inkjet printer NEEDS to print something almost every day to avoid having the nozzles stuck. You do not need to make a full poster size print, just a small area that will utilize all the nozzles and all possible colors. In the worst case just print the test image once per day. It will drain minimal ink and will make sure you nozzles are not drying. I have an epson ink tank system printer the last 3 years and I am doing this religiously, I print something every other day to keep the ink moving. I never in my life had a problem with lines or anything else. Save yourself the sanity and ink and do this and you will remember me. Also make sure to keep the printer in an enclosure away from dirt and dust.

@@frederikboving Every person who ever had problems with lines and/or clogged nozzles always said they didn't print for a few weeks and they needed to make a nozzle clean. Every inkjet printer should come with this memo to let everyone know that the nozzles will dry if not used very often. Some professional ink printers have a waste tank for ink and the printer has a setting that will send some ink to the waste tank every 4 hours to keep the nozzle perfectly clean. Imagine they send a single droplet every 4 hours from every nozzle because a professional plotter would require a lot more maintenance in case the nozzle clog up, so they did some up with this system. A friend of mine has that plotter and he told me to do the frequent printing in my inkjet. I can't believe I threw two printers in the past because they would stop printing when in reality I was the one to be blamed for not printing frequent enough. Now I swear by this rule and my printer prints like brand new for the last 3 years.

The d700 excels in portraits, particularly for getting natural soft skin tones. Excellent colour rendition, renders black and white tones really well, and preserves micro contrast from the lenses that have 3D pop. It wont make a poor lens pop, but it performs better than new cameras do when paired with softer lenses like vintage glass, because the 12Mp isn’t enough to expose their flaws. The noise has a grain like quality to it that can add a bit of grit and character, particularly in black and white rather than just destroying the image as soon as it becomes visible. It renders beautifully with flash, I can only assume that’s down to the large pixel pitch. It’s built like a tank, ergonomics are fantastic, and it has one of the most satisfying shutter buttons and shutter sounds out of all the DSLRs. Where it’s not so good, it lacks a bit of dynamic range, the autofocus is sufficient in good light, but it shows its age. It’s not a great choice for action/sports/wildlife. it wouldn’t be my first choice for landscape, unless you’re fine with a tripod and bracketing But it’s certainly not bad. Limited amount of crop. This is a great camera to shoot people

That diffuser is a real trap for a start, if you don’t have it pushed all the way in so that it clicks into the locked position then the flash head zoom function will not work. The user manual doesn’t mention this, in fact the user manual doesn’t even show there is a diffuser, go figure how a company can be so dumb not to mention this. I thought my flash was faulty and was about to return it before I figured it out.

As a 35-70mm 2.8 owner, I gotta say I was surprised to see a comparison to the 28-105mm 3.5-4.5 - and the latter was much sharper in detail, in a smaller + lighter form factor with the added 28mm focal length. I'm not sure what is the "gray area" where the 35-70mm shines much better besides the steady f2.8. 🤔

@@frederikboving Seriously? I didn't know it about this 28-105, since any lens with a range of apertures (3.5-4.4) instead of a steady aperture - feels cheap. But since compactness of size, usability, and weight are important to me as I travel - then this lens might be able to replace me Nikkor 28mm f2.8D + Nikkor 35-70mm f2.8, and only partially maybe - the Nikkir 60mm micro (which I only use for macro purposes- filling a face within the whole frame, close up on objects, etc. Not bugs photography). So, I do wonder if I could do that indeed. (i will still carry my 35mm f2 AF-D + Nikkor 70-210 f4-5.6 (didn't use it yet).

I do tend to shoot outside in the sun, but it's all film so ISO is the limit here. So, indoors it might be problematic, who knows. But, yeah, the copy I got is pretty mint in box.
