Have always been curious what kind of prep occurs before the video.
@laramasonpianoАй бұрын
It really depends on the piece. Some are familiar and it only takes a few days of practice while others can take months to learn well. Some pieces take a lot of research to find an arrangement that I like. I carry my camera everywhere I go and I’m constantly taking pictures or videos to use in my music videos. Recording the music with the least mistakes possible is always a challenge! I never have them perfect…if I waited for perfection I would never get anything done. Once I have the music recorded and pictures ready, the editing begins to fit it all together. It’s a lot of fun with lots of experimentation.

Painting is interesting. This piece would benefit from more of a flourish at the beginning. Do you do Bacharach, Hamlish or J Williams? Liked the longer version. Always Karen.

John Dowland wrote this song in the late 16th century.
@laramasonpiano2 ай бұрын
Interesting! It’s strange my book doesn’t give him credit. It only lists Patrick Doyle who obviously adapted it for the version used in “Sense and Sensibility”. My sheet music has no lyrics…only the piano arrangement by Phillip Keveren.
@lorijones95792 ай бұрын
@@laramasonpiano Look up a KZbin video of Sting singing it. I don't know what Doyle did other than use it beautifully in the movie, but Dowland deserves credit in my opinion. There's no copyright protection on such an old piece. Sting did an entire album of John Dowland songs (Songs from the Labyrinth) with a lute player who is mind-blowingly good. I recommend "Can She Excuse My Wrongs?" The original by Dowland has another title, but it's the same song performed like an English gentleman in his castle might do.

The arrangement is in a Hal Leonard book called “The Big Book of Nostalgia”. I play a lot of golden oldies from this book! The number on it is HL00310004. It’s on page 518. My dog likes the old music and he likes getting a treat when he gets his picture taken! Thanks for listening and commenting!
