I think I get it - you go there to burn gas. Lots & lots of gas. You bring people with you, as many of them as you can. Once they get there, you befuddle them with the wonders of burning gas by immersing them in a non-stop barrage of psychedelic foraging imagery bursting with flames, create a giant sense of community around the event, make it grow every year through promotion, and get all of the attendees to call themselves 'Burners', so as to intrinsically tie the concept of 'burning gas' into their core identity, so that they can then 'pass the torch', so-to-speak, to their closest relatives. Thus you have created, the Burning Man - the one that likes to burn gas, lots & lots of gas. And once your community has become large & vocal enough to exert leverage on certain interest groups, perhaps you can start thinking of installing a more permanent encampment on the site. And then - the drilling starts.

I stand corrected. You're not only burning gas.

After this year's (2022) Great Reno Balloon Race I was so disappointed with the smoke filled sky that I came home shortly after dawn patrol and looked for videos of past events to cheer me up. Yours is beautiful! The brilliant blue Reno sky is the perfect backdrop for the colorful balloons and makes all the difference to my enjoyment of the event. Thank you for the reminder!

Thanks a lot for putting that together, I rather enjoyed it, and have passed it on to my weekly Regional M&G email. Minor correction, at about the 2:10 mark, after Crimson lights the fire, you pass by my keyhole sculpture, Cosmic Parise and it says 2017 in the lower left-hand corner, but it was actually 2014. Thanks again!

Hi Mark, I love this video. While watching it I was inspired to use a still of it for postcards to gift at Burning Man 2022 as I do every year and would like your permission to do so, with credit of course.

2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015. Burnt out, miss it a little, and have moved on. It's a big world out there and not much time!

Been to Gurnig Man 7 times.. Bored out and got over the sad people calling it home. I'm home now. My home is my theme camp and I gift to my neighbors and radically include everyone(all politics welcome here). I volunteer for local chariyies(some run by religious groups I don't worship or party with). The concepts and opportunities to participate are abundant in the REAL(default) world. Our wonderful do-ocracy ezists as long as the sheep don't vote it out. Utopias are always destroyed by the ignorant sheep who beleive with all their soul(religiosly) that the grass gets greener if you protest and INFLICT your views on others.(radical self entitlement so often seen on playa)

That is a national geographic type video. You're a great photographer and videographer. Great shots and great edits. Not a boring moment in the whole video. (Before the credits).Great music. My favorite shots, aerial of your wife and her shadow walking on the rock. Moon through the arch, wife holding up the arch and the contrast of the mountains through the arch.
