Perfect water for breeding angelfish too, since the eggs cant be fertizlized in hard water. I have 6.5ph and around 1 gh in my tap water.
@sasfishadventures97296 ай бұрын
@@Dominik-g1i oh I heard also that eggs of tetras won't hatch in water with more gh too
@M3r-5b7k6 ай бұрын
No. Even soft water species can't survive such low GH. Back then before I knew what I was doing, I was using 90% rain water, made my GH similar to yours. I keep running to all sorts of problems mainly: I kept killing fish and I can't keep most plants alive. "Soft water fishes" means low KH thus having low pH. Get your GH up to at least 5 with the ratio of 4parts Calcium to 1part Magnesium. Fish and plants need these minerals to live.
@sasfishadventures97296 ай бұрын
@@M3r-5b7k not true. Gh where Cardinal tetras are found in the wild is immesurably low, below 1. You will have trouble if you are having higher GH species of fish tho. Not tetras. I will boost the magnesium however. Calcium damages the kidneys of tetras.

Light is for me the most important part to a planted tank, and at the same time whay most people get wrong at the begging including me, understanding lights has been by far my most expensive lesson during ny planted tank adventure, I've spent hundreds figuring out what light works for the type of plants I wanted to grow, a powerful light is always worth it.
@sasfishadventures97296 ай бұрын
@@Sinserg Yeah agree. I was originally going to stick with the light that came with the tank but seeing the plants struggle and the algae I'm like nope. Tanks only as good as its equipment haha

If you’re getting to much algae you’re giving tank to much light. I’ve found it’s important to find that butter zone of just enough light to barely get any algae. It also makes plants more perky if you don’t bombard them with light and the fish don’t care for it either. Even with a simple window in the bedroom and no tank light plants will grow fine.@@sasfishadventures9729

To repair the cracked snail shell You can use crazy glue gel must be crazy glue gel not the regular watery version way too messy and dangerous to use for this.and an egg shell. Just dont get any glue inside the crack or you might glue the snail to the shell take snail out of the water and pat the shell area dry so glue sticks to egg shell and snail shell. Rinse egg shell with water and dry before using. put the glue on each side of the crack sparingly so it doesnt ooz all over and place the egg shell piece that best matches the curve of the shell let dry and put back in the tank. It doesnt have to be perfect. Just do the best you can and be carful of sharp edges of egg shell so it doesnt cut the snail as it moves around. You can also wipe some glue over the eggshell very sparingly to make it stronger after the repair
