I do not understand your set print minimum. You say you need to print the minimum of 1.15 points white, but printers do not print white, and are you meaning your white dtf must be 1.15 bigger? 🤷🏻♀️
@transferexpress3 сағат бұрын
DTF Prints like our UltraColor Max print white ink behind the entire image. This final layer ensures that all the colors in your print are vibrant and opaque on any color of fabric, light or dark. The white ink also holds the adhesive which allows for a strong and durable bond to the fibers to ensure it lasts 50+ wash cycles. If smaller than the minimum line weight, those elements may not last.

Do you still offer the glitter transfers? I have a Christmas design that has Red Glitter NANA and a Green Glitter Claus underneath. When watching this video, and looking at the website, I don't see the Glitter option.

Sorry Lisa, unfortunately we do offer glitter or pearl transfers anymore. To achieve what you're looking for, depending on the quantity, the Glitter HTV from Stahls may be better suited for multicolor prints in the colors you're looking for: www.stahls.com/heat-transfer-vinyl-glitter-flake If you have a vinyl cutter you can order rolls, or STAHLS will also cut, weed and send you ready to apply transfers.

Hi Dave! Which transfer is best for pressing hats and caps using a hat heat press? ie. for truckers hats (synthetic fabric?) and 5-6 panel lifestyle caps, cotton twill? Do you recommend these transfers on any caps and hats?
@transferexpress7 сағат бұрын
Fantastic question! I'm a big fan of our UltraColor Max DTF Transfers or Goof Proof Screen Printed Transfers on hats & Headwear. We have a video here on using both of those products on foam front trucker caps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5_YoGelncypj9Esi=nNbi6QbrGtNyQusC In this additional video, we're focused on printing DTF on a variety of different headwear: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fafVeIp_eZuKopIsi=k-ir0ro_0CqUybpZ It depends on your design and the total quantity you need- For smaller quantities, UltraColor Max is great, for larger quantities of 1 or 2 color artwork, screen printed transfers will likely be the best bet- Or if you can fit a print on a gang sheet you're already ordering for t-shirts.... EVEN BETTER! The polyester on foam front trucker caps (specifically OTTO CAP) are pretty resilient to heat, so both transfer types work well. Always happy to help out!

Hi Dave , or anyone here. Do you cut up pieces of the garments to test the different samples ??
@transferexpress6 күн бұрын
Great question Angie! You can cut up swatches to test these smaller samples or print them all on one garment as an easy guide/reference shirt. By printing on the left chest, you can use these smaller samples as an example to show to customers too. One creative idea I saw a decorator use was cut each transfer off of the shirt then mount each piece to a small square of chipboard and then put on a large ring binder- That way you essentially have a small flipbook of real printed examples (and you can even label the back too!)

Time, Temperature and Pressure all vary based on the specific transfer type you're using. For the UltraColor Max DTF Prints use 290F, 12-15 seconds, medium pressure and a hot peel. For The Goof Proof Screen Print Transfers shown here use 365F, 4-6 Seconds (for single color / 10 seconds for multicolor) with firm pressure and a hot peel. You can always find application instructions in the box with your heat transfers or find them online: www.transferexpress.com/

Hello…we are Gina and Rick…we are brand new to heat press. Why are there heat tape marks left on a polyester shirt. I am not certain if my press heat settings are wrong or if I have the wrong brand heat tape??😮 Also, the square is printing on polyester. We have 100% polyester shirts. We have a htvront 15x15 and a Vevor 16x24. Please help.
@transferexpress6 күн бұрын
Hi Gina and Rick! We'd love to help out- Likely the temperature you're using is too high for the fabric. Polyester and synthetic garments are heat sensitive (some more than others) but there's a few methods you can utilize to reduce those unsightly platen marks on the garment. This video details avoiding it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5XPanSOhbKfqposi=nHk0FxV-H9N8Xa8V And this video can help you fix it as a last resort: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n32Zp32OjNN7asksi=XMrLS1uzjXlBsCL7 Just remember A.R.C.H. Method: Accurate Pressure: Utilizing the correct pressure settings can not only apply the transfer correctly for a durable finish, but protect sensitive fabrics. Reduced Heat Transfers: When printing on 100% polyester or synthetic blends, it's best to choose a heat transfer that applied below 300 degrees F. In some cases on more heat sensitive fabrics you need to go even lower. Correct Cover Sheet: Using the the correct coversheet can protect garments, but some coversheets block more heat than others (thus no scorching) but you want to ensure your transfer is still being applied correctly for a durable finish. You may need to test longer application times with this method and wash test before delivering to your customer. Heated Lower Platen: In the event nothing else works, you can use a heated lower platen heat press to apply heat from inside the garment, which protects the exterior face of the garment.

I just started DTF on foam truckers. I’m getting indentation from the film around the design. Is that too much pressure and/or too much heat?
@transferexpress6 күн бұрын
Hey Nate! That's a real good question and likely too much pressure. Some polyester foams hold indentations really easy- To reduce the outline (if backing the pressure off makes the pressure too light for the DTF to adhere) you can try a few things: #1. Tack the DTF down with very light pressure for a few seconds, gently push on the design with your fingers or a credit card while still warm then carefully remove the carrier. Then press for the full application without the carrier on. This may not work on certain fabrics or with low quality dtf transfers. #2. Press the entire front of the hat again with a paper coversheet larger than the hat- applying heat back to the foam front trucker caps can work wonders on most styles of hats, althought some styles are still very stubborn. What blank foam hats are you using? We can help test for you too

@transferexpress14 күн бұрын
For professional quality results we recommend using a heat press. With an iron, you'll never be able to have accurate pressure settings, which can impact the application process or lead to peeling or cracking. All of our transfers shown here are independently tested to 50 wash cycles when applied correctly- meeting the industry standard for any printed apparel. You can learn more about the process in this video here, comparing application with an iron to a heat press: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opzXeGqGnrFoes0si=PHoR02UQsq92LNYB

How do these work?
@transferexpress14 күн бұрын
The heat transfers are applied to garments using heat and pressure for an allocated time. When applied properly with a heat press they are durable and are independently tested to 50 washing cycles. We screen print these to a specific release paper, handling the mess of inks, emulsion, setup and cleanup so you can have the same result with just your heat press. While we did use the mini Cricut press here, we typically don't recommend applying like this, as pressure is variable and inconsistent, leading to inconsistent results that may not last on the garment like they should. A locking heat press with adjustable pressure works best for professional results, something like this: www.transferexpress.com/heat-presses/hotronix-auto-clam-heat-press

I saw a machine that combines DTF and DTG. Do you have it?
@transferexpress17 күн бұрын
We do not, for the best quality DTF transfers we have dedicated DTF printers. They often say "A jack of all trades is a master of none", we've specialized in high quality heat transfers for over 30 years. We help apparel decorators grow their business and succeed by offering custom transfers on demand, without any huge upfront investments. Before investing in a DTF Machine yourself, there's a few things to look at: 1. Cost vs Quality & Efficiency: Low cost DTF printers do not have powder shakers and in-line dryers, leading to inconsistencies in print quality or a paper-like feel on the garment, not to mention the additional steps needed to coat and cure the adhesives on the printer- So, while in supply cost alone it may only look like 3-4 cents per square inch, your time and cost required to complete a transfer easily doubles to more than what you can buy the highest quality transfers for, all without any of the financial risk upfront or time to babysit your printer. 2. Environmental concerns: Banding and print head clogs are common with any digital printing with white ink- Climate control (both temperature and relative humidity) is paramount for quality printing and low maintenance. With curing adhesives under heat, chemicals can evaporate into the air, so in addition to humidifiers and hygrometers you will also need adequate venting and exhaust for health safety. Another concern is hand-coating the powder adhesive- Shaking the fine powder in enclosed or non-ventilated spaces increases the chance of inhaling what is essentially powdered glue- You don't want to breathe that. 3. Turnaround Time: Our DTF ships as quick as the same day when produced before production cutoff, so if you aren't in need of same day turnaround time, there is not a need to invest into expensive equipment to bring printers in-house. The average turnaround time for the decorated apparel industry from order to delivery of printed t-shirts to the customer is 7-10 days. 4. Maintenance: Anyone running DTF or DTG printers will tell you: "It's not IF, it's WHEN it will break" So coupled with the cost of maintenance, overseas technical support and backorders on print heads or replacement parts, printing yourself can be a headache- And if you need printer is not printing, it's a very expensive paperweight. 5. Inconsistent Supply Chains: We have lab testing at our DTF printing facilities nationwide- Ensuring all supplies like inks, adhesives and films are the same quality, as even a slight change in pigment density in inks can halt production or print low quality transfers. As most supplies are imported from overseas, shipping delays are frequent. 6. Technology Advancements: In just the past 3 years that DTF printers have been on the market, there a new models, innovations and technology hitting the market every couple months or so. Your investment today may be outdated in just a few months, leaving you behind with inferior quality or unsupported machinery. Don't take it from us though, you can order samples for free and compare to any other DTF on the market: www.transferexpress.com/marketing-tools/free-samples It's also a good idea to research any DTF printing groups on facebook and you'll see many of these issues above discussed daily.

Wash tests for sure! Wish the paper didn't crinkle up after 3-4 presses and transfer to the design. Love the texture of the flexible pad but slightly more gloss than I like. Does the canvas ever create wrinkles or worry of print transferring to it? That looks like the best option to me if it can be used for 100+ garments without needing replaced.
@transferexpress20 күн бұрын
The canvas does not create wrinkles in our experience as long as it’s laid flat over the print. If the fabric ever does wrinkle from being folded it can be “ironed out” by just pressing it by itself with the heat press. The wrinkles in the paper are definitely a bummer, but easy and inexpensive to replace. Also, Wash testing is complete with a video coming very soon!
