i love how you never run out of ideas and everything looks distinctly yours :3

I love the explanation! Straightforward, humble. The textures you achieved are so nice! It’s almost like a soft carpet or wool texture. It’s very tactile, rhythmic, and really drew me in to the details. Good stuff man!

I love how the scribbles add movement to the piece, kinda drags your eye around especially when you're close up to it.

From a distance, and likely because of YT's bit crunching, it looks like a low-mid res texture for the interior of a futuristic or cyberpunk office on the PSP. Up close though the detail is like looking at the veins and structures of colourful petals through a microscope!

This is so cool !!! I would love to know your thought process and what inspired this piece. I adore the details, how its a sort of controlled chaos. Fantastic !!
@whoistroythomas3 күн бұрын
A brief description of my thought process during the designing of this piece is that I wanted to have a faint, but interesting pattern design for the background with a simple design in the foreground. I don't know if anything consciously inspired this piece - I can't recall anything that inspired the design. Thanks for the compliments on the artwork!

question, how do you decide the names of your pieces?
@whoistroythomas7 күн бұрын
Early on, I tried to think of interesting names for my works. When I started to do a lot of the same shapes, I decided to start giving them generic names like "Circle x" or "Rings x" where 'x' would be the date that it was completed on. Then, starting on the day that I turned 50, I started making the titles more like catalog numbers. For the artwork in this video, TT51 is my initials and age; 241101 refers to the date (in the format of YYMMDD); 01 means it was the first completed work of that day; and the D at the end stands for drawing. It helps a lot with organization. Also, I want people to view my artwork with an open mind without the influence of what might be stated in a title. I hope that made a little bit of sense.

@whoistroythomas10 күн бұрын
Thanks. You are not crazy. After I got to this point in the progress of this art piece, I also noticed that it looked like a flag. When I sketched the design, there was no intent for it to resemble a flag.

Thanks! I never keep track of time it takes me to create these types of artworks, but I can give you an estimated guess. For this particular artwork, I would guess that the overall time from sketch to finished product, it might have taken 8-10 hours of work.

How many gel pens did it take? Looks nice
@whoistroythomas17 күн бұрын
Thanks. For a lot of these artworks, I can make a set of pens last through 2 or 3 pieces, but it depends on how dense the ink is. There have been pieces with a lot of the same color in the artwork and very dense, and it took me at least two pens of that colors.
@z4c0f4917 күн бұрын
