Many of the places you visited were there in my childhood. It was great to revisit the area of my childhood. I look forward to seeing more of your videos visiting "my childhood". Thankyou

Telford Plaza! I worked on elements of that in the early 90s…….does it have tenants now?

It looks so dreary and souless. The very definition of an anonymous, and bland provincial town that grew too big for the services it had/still has.

At 17 minutes, i witnessed the railway cutting being filled in when the factory to the south was built, I worked in the factory to the north and used to mooch about in the cutting at lunchtimes, I have a long length of hand formed square link chain that i pulled out of a rotten tree stump down there l

There were quite a few remnants of a stone wall to your left as you walked along the cutting especially at the back of my work, now buried quite deeply

Lived in Bembridge and Burtondale in my house-sharing days in 90s. Brookside now has the worst reputation of the three big estates for asb, drugs and teenage gangs who think they are in the mafia.....

Please stop cluttering KZbin with this vertical trash! Unwatchable. Disliked, Not Watched, requested no more feeds from your channel. Why not use proper landscape mode; evolution has given us a wide field of view, not a crap pair of blinkers to cut out 60% of our vision! 👎🤮🚮

Very interesting! I lived in 7 Sunny Mead for a while in the very early '70's with my parents before we moved back to Wales when I was about 14-15 years old. I loved it there. My mother liked the design of the house. I find it quite sad hearing about the social problems that later blighted the area.

Great Britain is going to be "GREAT"..... Halesfield is a ghost of its former self, no jobs and people in more debt than ever for the car and the house. What a dream.

Great and informative video. I left in the early 90's. Went back on a few visits and appalled at what Madeley has become. Bastardised by a corporate brand "TESCO" and it's ripped the heart from the community. It was the epicentre for all to meet, play and be a nuisance to the shoppers on Saturdays at the Market dropping devil bangers on them from the library spiral ramp. It was cutting edge...now it's just mediocre and that's being polite. They ripped the Merc down too (sacrilege).

My first memory of madeley was in 1961 .I was 5 years old then and I lived in Coalbrookdale and I went shoping with my granny every saturday .when I was 14 I got my first weekend job working at key markets fridays saturdays and shelf filling on sundays when the shop was closed in those days .I met my first ''propper' girlfriend at Woodside disco who lived in Madley . I went to the Abraham Derby school when my familey moved to Woodside around the same time. I still live in woodside now and Madeley is within easy walking distince .I have seen all of the changes happen in this area not all for the best .But the sadist part I find is the decline of Madeley market which now constists of 3 stalls and a dog on a good day .All in all tho it's been a great place to grow up in for myself and my familey.

I moved into Woodside from Coalbrookdale in 1970 when the Houses were built but the footpaths still under construction . I still live here 53 years later .Woodside has not been without it's problems over the years .But to call it rundown now in 2023, is somewhat of an exageration. The courts were indeed a ''no go'' area at one time and we often lament the loss of the old shops and some of the green belt area that has now been built on .Myself and my familey have grown up and grown old here and with zero regrets .
