You guys are being delusional in these comments. Choi Mujin saw Jiwoo as a daughter figure. Throughout the series we see how he cares and caters for her and is protective of her in a FATHERLY WAY. At no point are they shown to have some sort of romantic interest in one another.

The chemistry between these two was undeniably obvious, there's no such word that can describe his affection and care towards her romantically like the way he looked at Jiwoo/Hyejin, that gazes. He even cross his own boundaries and did unusual turns which are very unlike him for the woman's sake. The fact that he only smiles at her and chose to trusted her for how many times the chances tested Jiwoo's loyalty, and doubt Taeju instead. Taeju was suspicious of Jiwoo to begin with she was the daughter of the man that Mujin killed. Mujin has nothing to gain from meddling in Jiwoo's revenge except from keeping an eye to her plans (monitoring her whereabouts) and be his eye in the cops, as saying goes "keep your enemies closer". And that worries Taeju, Mujin letting Jiwoo becomes his weakness and risking his safety and the organization in the bigger picture. The scene when he personally trained her was on another level, the chamomile tea that he drink despite of its unpleasant taste, the junkyard scene when he risks his safety to save Jiwoo from Gangjae alone, the anger he have towards Gangjae for trying to rape and harming Jiwoo, the escape thingy when he ask Jiwoo to leave the country for her safety and even get her a place to stay near the beach, the temple's scene where he only contacted Jiwoo of all people to visit him in that state, the way he smiled when he recognized Jiwoo's presence from distance, and when Mujin turned crazy and depressed when Jiwoo and Pildo slept together and said that "SHE SHOULD'VE COME TO ME" a couple of times? Guuurl, I don't know about ya or how dense you are to not feel that spark and romantic connection between them and keep saying that its only a father-daughter thing. I can vouch MY NAME that there's something more that a guilt and regrets in Mujin's eyes and gazes towards Hyejin/Jiwoo <3 Every character has painful past and depth personality, and I understand the loneliness and longing for love and affection. Pildo has a great chemistry with Hyejin as well but its just that the transitions of their story was a bit rushed and unexpected, maybe the storyline would be better if the two shared intimate bonds in the previous episodes like falling asleep at Pildo's arms or accidentally fall in Pildo's chest in their duo fight scene/s, just to give the viewers a head's up on what's the score between these two colleagues which explains the root of love scene. You know, there's enough foundation for their relation and connection like Mujin and Jiwoo for being a constant allies for 5 years? I think it would have been better if the series has like 10-16 episodes, enough time to unfold each characters pasts and story. I guess it would be better if the death of Pildo's sister have something to do with Mujin and Jiwoo's dad so there's a valid reason for Pildo's being too involved with Mujin & Jiwoo. Something like a plot twist that Pildo was the killer of Jiwoos dad and hunting Mujin since they're "best friends" and leading the drug syndicate which causes the death of Pildo's sister, in that case the death of Pildo would have an impact and not just simply dragged into Jiwoo and Mujin's issue. Mujin was obsessed and manipulative, but I think he still deserve to have someone in life who can calm the demon inside him. Someone who he can trust and share his pain in the tough world of violence and misery where everyone keeps betraying and taking him down. Someone who got his back in times of uncertainty and willing to risk her life for him no matter what. And I guess that was HYEJIN/JIWOO </3 WHY does it have to be a tragic ending that both guys in Jiwoo's life are dead? Isn't selfish to at least gave her someone who she can rely on and share her hardships? Because on Jiwoo's pov, it was exhausting and traumatising to live. P.S own preference and pov as a supporter of the whole production.

IF what Choi Mujin had for Jiwoo was nothing more than a fatherly love, he wouldn't have the heart to kill her even after finding out she had turn her back on him. He also wouldn't have bothered to come & save her himself at the junkyard. One of his men could've gotten that job done. Man didn't even stab her right in her heart or head in the final fight like he taught her. Lastly, the writer could've made Mujin to be the same age as Jiwoo's father to avoid more analysis created over the nature of their relationship, but she didn't. Which makes it all the more sensible for him to feel something different for her AS A MAN. That chamomile thing was just a game changer tbh. 🌼
