From the Thames tv intro to the swinging bulb & This Man Alone on the tremolo guitar, this is so evocative of my childhood.

I wish the adverts weren't edited out, they would be interesting aside to this excellent tv drama.

The line of questioning of the pathologist by the council for the defense reminds me of an old joke: Lawyer: "Could not the victim have been alive when he arrived in your department?" Pathologist: "No, certainly not." L:" How can you be so sure of that?" P: "His brain was in a jar on my desk." L: "And are you quite certain that this means he must have been dead?" P: "Now, that I come to think of it, he might still have been working as a lawyer somewhere."

I loved this as a kid and I love this now. How nice to see witty, intelligent, pleasant people again, much better than the no-brained toss-pots on the BBC these days.

I donno - seems like they are all bluff on this show. I mean wheres the staples of good entertainment like cat fights and constant arguments and drama queening for attention. Theres not even a hint of POC or LGBTQRST etc and the intellegence level required is way to high for this to be entertaining... If it were 1974 I'd switch over to ITV.

Showing its age ! Streaker to female Skydiver crew member ; "How's about some of that Skydiver coffee" 😂 Like space 1999 this show had many different writers, script writers and directors. This made some episodes much better than others.. That said they all had just 45 minutes to build a plot and then wind it all up so a few holes here and there and some unlikely scenario's were inevitable .. A a kid I was glued to these shows when they first aired.. Great memories

A great series and thoroughly enjoy all the episodes. Just wonder why the writers don't get more advice when it comes to motor vehicles . The car being repaired at the garage had a steering box & idler arrangement, MGBs had rack and pinion steering (nothing to adjust) . Sorry, I have always been pedantic.

Thank you so much for sharing this interview. I have watched many versions of Jane Eyre and find Michael Jayston is the best Mr Rochester. Love Sorcha Cussack playing Jane. Also love Stephanie Beecham, Megs Jenkins and Geoffrey Whitehead too. A great cast.
