I have sculptor clay on my walls downstairs, what would be a good color for the baseboard?
@oakandgrainbyjess26 күн бұрын
That’s the exact color I used on the trim in this video! It’s a beautiful color.

Followed your steps light is flickering maybe some wires are loose.
@oakandgrainbyjess26 күн бұрын
Way to tackle it 👏🏼Yeah, Sounds like it. Just double check the wires are in contact under your caps. Hope that helps!

Why not just use all of the new wire nuts instead of reusing the old ones. Just asking because ain’t no telling how long the old ones been in that box
@oakandgrainbyjess26 күн бұрын
If you have new ones available, use them! If this is someone’s first exchange & they don’t have electrical supplies on hand or their light kit didn’t come with caps then the old ones should work just fine.

Nice. I also like the trim color...and wall color. Do you happen to remember what they were?
@lovestobake41372 ай бұрын
She said the trim color is “sculptor clay”, and the wall color is “Swiss coffee”. Both by Behr.

I love this but my walls are textured so how could I smooth my wall where the gap is?
@oakandgrainbyjess26 күн бұрын
Depending on how textured you may still be able to cover the gap with a generous amount of caulk. Let me know if you try it
@Katkatburg32233 ай бұрын

Did you end up doing this to other windows or doors in the house?
@oakandgrainbyjess26 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question! I ended up leaving bathrooms & bedrooms original. But yes, downstairs I’ve done some & will do the rest in phases that make sense with my other projects. :)

ESP those small miter cuts that wrap around can be tough! Play around with some scraps, you’ll get the hang of it!

Hi there! Thank you for the tutorial! What do you seal it with? I’m curious if polyurethane will bring out some of the orange tones over the paint or not
@oakandgrainbyjess26 күн бұрын
Oil poly WILL bring out amber tones, but that doesn’t matter so much over wood finishes. But def wouldn’t want oil over white paint for that reason. I always use a water based poly like Varathane Satin. Way less yellowing with time & easier to clean up :)

like your idea of the painters tape for drawer pulls. I use to knot a old clothes line rope and I could reuse them. Old rope is cheaper than tape? Yeah but! what works for you works for you Beautiful job. The prep work which everyone hates and the fact that you did four rounds of it tells me you are a top notch restorer!!!!
