I’ve begun NAET therapy with three sessions in the last few weeks for food and environmental allergies. I have long covid and some autoimmune issues and am very very sensitive to any detoxes. My first session we worked on calcium mix. I felt slightly better for the first 3 days or so but the next four days felt little worse. After my second session I felt pretty good that first day but worse on/ofd the next week. Last night was my third session and had a rough night as well as day today. Was curious why I may be feeling worse after sessions. Also, does NAET cause detox reactions?

I just got my (MARPE) MSE installed a couple days ago and my neuromuscular airway orthodontist wants me to begin myo therapy for one month. After this month has passed we will do a tongue tie release and then work on getting Invisalign catered towards my TMJ issues. I’m a 26 year old male do you think this is a reasonable approach to tongue tie release for me? For further context, I suffered from horrible tmj, neck, shoulder, pelvic floor dysfunction, obstructive sleep apnea, and excessive mouth breathing. Thank you for your response
@halliebulkin3683 ай бұрын
We can’t prescribe a set amount of myo per se before evaluating your case. Once you have a myo evaluation the team can help with a timeline. Definitely start with a myo eval and myo before your tongue tie release!
@sniperyuout1873 ай бұрын
@@halliebulkin368 Yes I’ve had a meeting with my myo now. One more question, have you ever had clients do myofunctional therapy successfully while having an MSE palate expander installed? I currently have an expander in and doing the exercises and suctioning is difficult. Thank you so much for the response!

@untetheredpodcast5 ай бұрын
Yes you are! We do virtual therapy and haven't encountered limitations per se. If you are using PROMPT that may be difficult, however as you do map sounds/movements on to the face. Unclear if that is virtual friendly as I personally specialize in feeding and myo.

Hello! How long was your vivos journey? I finished mine after 1.3 years , one frenectomy and myofunctional therapy. I’m a little uncomfortable about my teeth placement as they moved during vivos. How long do you recommend waiting for the bite to settle before doing aligners. These would be my third set 😢 (first as a teen, then Invisalign before vivos)
@untetheredpodcast5 ай бұрын
I was in it for 2 years and then did 1 year of invisilign. But be aware...invisalign can retract the teeth too much toward the end of treatment (that happened to me).

Can myo help jaw posture and build jaw muscle? I’m reversing retractive orthodontics with an expander (as an adult) which not only ruined my ability to maintain correct oral posture because I have so little space, but I also noticed the narrowing of my dental arch caused my jaw to move back and down and lose muscle. I’m hoping widening my arch will allow my mandible to come up and forwards again but am wondering will I need to retrain the muscles so it can rest in that position?

It's possible you may need myofunctional therapy. I would recommend a myo eval to start and that should help get you some answers.

This is such valuable information. I am of the opinion that tongue tie should be purposefully checked for at birth, not wait until symptoms arise…and they will. If not during breastfeeding, then development of jaw and palate. Is all connected. I’m 51 and have a tongue tie…it explains so much about my life journey with regard to dental health and sleeping well.

After utilizing the Homeoblock device for nearly 12 months to address my sleep apnea, I have yet to observe any enhancement in the quality of my sleep. If someone is grappling with sleep apnea, I would exercise great caution in opting for the Homeoblock device. It's crucial to meticulously weigh the costs against the potential benefits. Additionally, thoroughly review the scientific literature related to the Homeoblock device, paying attention to the types of studies conducted, such as whether they are Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), Observational studies, Cohort studies, etc. Furthermore, assess the sample size employed in each specific study to gauge the viability and statistical power of its implications and primary treatment findings. I have had 4 invasive surgeries to treat my sleep apnea, all to no avail. This device was my last hope. Going to an ENT is a waste of money and time. They get paid and you get poorer. Not a fair system.

Doesn't regular micropore tape contain chemicals that could be problematic putting it on the highly absorbent lips?
@halliebulkin368 Жыл бұрын
According to a google search takes like 3M micropore tape is non toxic, hypoallergenic and safe for long term use. Micropore consists of a conformable, non-extensible non-woven fabric manufactured from 100% viscose, coated with a layer of an acrylic adhesive. That said, I’m with you in that we should be diving deeper into this. Many other tapes I looked at have obvious chemicals that can absolutely be detrimental to long term use. Thanks for raising this question.
@jakobw135 Жыл бұрын
@@halliebulkin368 But, you should know that 3M told me that there are no bonafide studies showing clearly that the chemicals on these tapes are safe to use on the lips.
