This cultural appropriation is so unbelievably racist. But, damn, it's still a good song.

It wasn't the first rap record, but it set it off. I was working in a Tower store when Rapper's Delight came out; it was almost impossible to keep stocked.

🤴🏾 1986 - 38 yr old brotha here, this is the rap music I started listening to recently 🤦🏾‍♂️ got tired of hearing most of our young brotha’s talk about the same thing killing one another drugs & putting our beautiful sista’s down 👸🏽

Weird how this is the genre that started the decadence of music, though the early songs are actually really good 🤔

I was a club DJ while on leave and they liked me so much that I began working for the club on my weekends. I played this song almost as often as it was requested. It still sounds great! The other song I loved playing was Blondie's song Rapture. Great stuff! I'll bet you didn't know that a Cherokee guy had soul, did you?

"African Americans" are the ORIGINAL INDIGENOUS NATIVES of America and not them $5 indians who claim to be. The greatest lie ever told was that we were "brought" here. 🙄 Don't believe me then go check the original emblam of the Americas and many old articles before they changed our identity for the 50/11th time. WE know who WE are and will be reclaiming OUR land!!

Who knew NYC in that period would be like a utopia compared to the sanitized, commercialized city it would become. Any pre-Internet world is preferable.
