Gigantmax is so hard. I actually missed the last wave of GMax raid and I didn't want to miss it again. So I commuted 2 and a half hours further into the city to join a bigger group of people to get Gigantamax Kingler. Got 4 of them, it was a nice experience but I wish I didn't have to spend a total of 5 hours to get this thing

This event starts in about 6 hours here. Only 1 meet up in an hour radius of my house has me concerned that the excitement for this feature is falling off already. Yes its very cold today (29F/-1 C) but hardcore players will usually just drive. Feature definitely needs a reimagining regarding accessibility but have to wait and see

Congrats on completing with 7 & getting the shiny! We had 8, but no Gmax counters & our Dmax counters weren't all powered up or maxed levelled (some weren't even the recommended counters lol) but we got it well into the Red using 6 mushrooms, we only lost as it went enraged at 5mins & started KOing all our counters with a single attack. This happened 3 or 4 times. We also felt it was attacking way more frequently than is usual, but we weren't sure, so it is good to know others were thinking the same as well. We were so close to getting our first local Gmax done this time- I'm hoping we can get 3 or 4 more people to come join us for the next Gmax battles as we should be able to complete them before it goes enraged with one more team helping out- I mean if the enraged timer went off at 6mins instead of 5mins, we'd have completed it today with 8 under powered counters! New group has been made & so far there has been an uptick in the number of people turning up in person to events... like 6 real life people turned up today & interacted with each other... I can't recall the last time more than 2 people turned up in person for a raid day & actually interacted outside of rayfest! Thank you for the advice on community building, it was as I suspected & feared lol. If you are planning to come up this way feel free to join :)

On the first battle, you didn't dodge, because it should show dodge in the text on bottom right always if you accurately dodge. You want to slide and not hit anything and he will sit for like 2 sec and then shift bacc to center. I slide twice for dodge usually and the 2nd one usually registers but I start dodging as soon as the yellow comes up but sometimes slide on red one time and it counts but you need to see the dodge text or else it doesn't. Sometimes im seeing people dodge but pressing buttons still or spamming dodge and its not working correctly because they messing it up. Good lucc.

If you're really smart like me, you can add to your phone keyboard text shortcuts, bascially i have one set for zzz that suggests "interactable&giftable which saves heaps of time sending last second gifts. You can also use this for any other shortcut.

I think pokestops and being on a route affect it. Ive run into 2 birds in 2 days and 1 was a shiny which completed my collection of all 3 shiny birds all in about the same spot following the same route which is covered in pokestops all the way up and down. It HAS to matter and maybe it could help?

Easy of you've gotten the gigantamax, those raids are just a slap in the face for rural players

Ive done 5, all easy with 3 Players. Excadrill, Articuno, Lapras. All min Level 40, All Attack Level 3. I think I could have done it with 2, maybe even Solo. Wasnt So hard. But I did do All the math before. Attack is above 1.200 in my Team. That's sufficient for a relaxed raid 🙃

It was much easier to defeat! Quick fights but the throwing for the catch was a lot more tense for some reason! Did manage to get a 15/12/15 though so happy with that.

Just did 2 of them solo off a single Mushroom. Only needed a lvl 50 Excadrill and a lvl 43 Articuno with Max Hailstorm at level 3. 3rd Pokemon didn't matter and I didn't reset for attacks. So wayy easier than Articuno.
