Great hunt and great buck. Camera man needs some work. Take your hands off of the camera when a shot is made so you don’t jump and move the camera on the most important part of the video. Love the hunt. Congrats

Good hunt, if you want to see more footage of this buck i filmed him the first week of November. He was wounded in the shoulder then. I was really hoping he would stay on my farm😂

If this Iowa is going to be a regular stop for you guys. Look into a smokless muzzleloader. Lots of great builders and performance is unmatched. I love my McWhorter 45XML. It's going to Iowa in January of 26 with me.

Sweet setup and shooting. I plan on getting into the hunting suppressed game soon. I currently don’t have a threaded barrel rifle and it’s hard to find one that is left handed.
@usernamehere606117 күн бұрын
Why do you need a left handed rifle? Genuinely curious. I shoot left handed but use a right handed rifle. Have done so my whole life and never had an issue.
@TheWVgoodguy2217 күн бұрын
@@usernamehere6061 I don’t NEED a left handed rifle but I do prefer it. My first big game rifle of my own (270 Win) when I was 15 (I am 41) is a left handed rifle so I am use to that. However I did buy a right handed rifle (300 WSM) in 2019. I have taken two bucks with it, but one of the two charged right at me (shot at 25 yards) and I had to reach across my rifle action to chamber another round for self defense since I am use to using my left hand to run the bolt. So a lefty is handier in quick situations like that but if I have the time and training I would be able to use a right handed rifle smoother

Thanks for watching. Silencer central offers threading for barrels that don’t have it! www.silencercentral.com/services/barrel-threading/
@TheWVgoodguy2217 күн бұрын
@@JustHuntClub you are welcome 🙏. That’s true I remember seeing that as well, thanks for the reminder. As long as I don’t get a rifle with a pencil ✏️ barrel that should be fine to do. Works out well since I want to get the Banish Backcountry for myself. 😎🦌

Can you do an episode on telling the difference between good buck sign and the correct buck sign. The "X SPOT" so to speak. Also, the difference in between summer pattern into fall deer patterns. What do you look for and how do you tell the difference?

Jon please do more of these type of videos, NY is so different (like you mentioned bedding based on sight) and the public is hunted hard. I would like to see more of finding the access/parking would be great. All of my local hunting areas have been over-run with hunters in the past couple years. Every parking spot and even the sides of the road are being fill up. I seem to do great once I find a track of public land not full of people. Even in the big woods sleeping in a lean-to we run into other trackers... I never used to see anyone locally just wondering what to do. I have even crossed the entire state to try the western part and there were more deer and bigger racked on average, but still the same lots of hunters at every spot problem.
