Hi ladies, what a pleasure to catch your video! Cryss your skirt is going to be stunning. Thank you for sharing. While visiting Montgomery, Texas I came across a new to me yarn that had sone beautiful colors. I wanted to share the website so you can check it out. The brand is called Circulo and the weight I bought to try is Anne (fingering) but they had dk, worsted and lace. Gorgeous colors. The shop is called The Modern Skein. 100% mercerized Brazilian virgin cotton.

Lisa here Circulo makes some beautiful yarns. Check out their website lots of beautiful free patterns.

Congrats on the new site! Your skirt looks quite drapey and really cute, Cryss! Those books seem super interesting Lisa. I wonder if the Big Book has information on calculating how many stitches need to go unworked in short rows?

I’ll have to check into that. I’ve just started exploring that book.

You can buy cotton on cones.
@ThreeofSkeins6 ай бұрын
We were just talking about that yesterday. There's a store not too far from us that has weaver's supplies. They had a lot of cone yarns. Twist Knit and Spin is the name.

Cryss, a while back you mentioned that you were going to be working in cms instead of in, or going back and forth. I recently learned that 4 in does not equal 10 cm, it actually is 10.16 cm. Ppl round and use them interchangeably but as you can imagine that error multiplied throughout a whole garment is going to be noticable. That could be the reason working in cm, or in the unit the designer worked, lead to better results.
@ThreeofSkeins6 ай бұрын
That's something we've both been thinking about. Sometimes there's a small discrepancy that creeps in. Working in the same units the designer used is a great idea.

Cryss, I buy cones of weaving thread. WEBS offers a variety of colors, including variegated. I've also bought from a company called Weavers Loft. I know there are others out there, I just haven't bought from them. 8/2 is about a size 10; 5/2 is slightly heavier, but still less than a size 5.

Would the heelless, toeless sock be considered a foot warmer 😂. If I’m not mistaken Cryss, vintage patterns especially fillet/ lace patterns utilize cotton thread or lighter yarn for shawls.
@ThreeofSkeins6 ай бұрын
I think they could be considered foot warmers. We’ve seen people wear them for yoga.

Trying to work while watching this vlog is impossible. Work will have to wait. I've run across yarn with no yardage/meterage info a few times. I don't get it, why would the manufacturer do this. Without that info I can't buy your yarn. Drives me crazy. I need Cryss's tote bag. So cool. Lisa, I love your neutral color block. Same Lisa, I try my best to buy something at each LYS I go to.

Winning a raffle is so much fun! I won a prize during the Wool Walk last year at Balzac & Co. I was so thrilled because i never win anything! 😅 Hoping one of you wins something great! ❤❤❤ As for the Washington Crossing Bridge, which I assume is the narrow bridge you reference, I always hold my breath & bite my lip as if that will narrow the car's profle 😅😅😅

Congratulation on finding The Embroidery on Knits , that book does sell out within days of getting it back in stock. I was happy to snatch myself a copy a couple months ago. I also think I saw ya'll and didn't realized because I was tired. Ya'll were out in dutch country the roads are old and was made for horse and buggy and never updated for cars and such, trust it gets worse , you'll see some stuff in PA country land. lol The fuzzy yarn you got from Wildhand is by BackPocket Fibers they were a special pop-up in the shop for that day. Glad ya'll come out to the crawl!! Nice haul!!
