I heard from their Discord that that has been in dev for quite some time now.. Apparently that's harder to do that they thought and they prioritised the Cobblemons themselves first.. (makes sense to me)

You could make your strorage room door look better by placing 2 fences next to door on each side and then placing stairs on top of them, you could also put slabs next to the stairs and hang lanterns from them. Also you can use warped planks from the nether as the roof for your house
