Thank you so much for addressing the importance of voting according to kingdom principles. Such a great teaching that the people of God need to hear all over this nation. Thank you Greg!! I shared this with many friends.

Some powerful words spoken today Greg. What you said about God always being disappointed and angry spoke to me. I felt that way for so long. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve been able to let that go. Thank you for the confirmation. You’re awesome Greg. And thanks for all your hard work you put into this church - I absolutely love it.

Can't control what convicts you, so what does it matter? If you feel the conviction, you repent. If you don't feel the conviction, how would you ever know to repent? Further, if the strength of the conviction would lead to a higher likelihood to repent, and since we also can't control the strength of what convicts us, then do we really control to what degree we repent? The answer: God is just, He will judge justly. Stop worrying about if you're doing it right - you aren't and never will. No one will. That's why the law was abolished. That's why and how we're free. If the Holy Spirit convicts you, by all means, LISTEN. But you shouldn't bash your convictions over the heads of those who are convicted differently. For all we know, God judges us each based on how we followed what the Holy Spirit convicted us of - maybe for each of us to effectuate whatever God's plan may be.

Yes. The issue is not that we are not speaking the truth in love, but rather, sinful people do not love hearing the truth. This is when they accuse us of hate speech.

I do not fear God. I love God, and I serve God by my own free will. I respect God. I pray to God. I walk with God. But God has never given me a reason to fear him. If you serve God out of fear, then are you really serving him of your own free will?

I mean an eternity of perpetual nightmarish torment seems like something conjured up pretty specifically to induce fear. Doesn't really matter how nice the lipservice is when that dagger is hidden behind the back, does it?

No, the unsaved are not free from sin. It's only after we are saved. Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

In Hebrew we call it “Irat shamaim” it’s not a fear it’s like a huge respect.
@markw487 Жыл бұрын
That is obviously not a fact because people achieve and do all kinds of things without fear of God what was that saying there's nothing to fear but fear itself that seems to be a principal so if you fear in general you can't achieve putting any fear in your heart what seemed to be a downfall so if this is so why would God want you to fear him instead of embracing and loving

Where does it say in Proverb 1 where it says i can't become who i called you be. None happen if you don't learn how to fear me. Where does proverbs 1 says that.

It’s inferred by context: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7) “Happy are those who find wisdom and those who get understanding, for her income is better than silver and her revenue better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.” (Proverbs 3:13-16) “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.” (Proverbs 9:10-12)

@Theologyforbreakfast but those scriptures doesn't not say fear me. It says the fear of the Lord. It doesn't say fear me.
@Theologyforbreakfast Жыл бұрын
@@KEAWE7 I understand now, when you go to the wider teaching, he is using a first-person pronoun in regards to a person’s relationship with God. The pastor wasn’t telling the congregation to fear him, he was talking about the relationship which exists between them and God. Hope that provides clarity!
