The boy had to learn sooner or latter that his mother wasn't a saint, that she was a woman with flaws and by refusing to accept that he is being childish and selfish. And the way Andy takes credit of her cheating it’s pretty mature. Most people once they find out their spouse cheats start cursing and yelling without ounce of self-reflection.

The way Dr. Brown pauses for a few seconds before saying “That she would see him again” is so well done. He knows that if he tells Ephram the truth, his son will never think of his mother the same way ever again. He realizes how crushing the truth will be and really thinks it over before telling it.

@mgeek1 Yeah, I was about to post a comment about how maybe Andy shouldn't have told Ephram the truth, but Ephram really pushed the issue way too far. And sometimes when you force out answers from family you get uncomfortable truths you're not ready to deal with.

Such a sad scene. Bright's denial finally runs out... His realization is really sad. But Colin's realization is just heartbreaking. These types of moments and the little piano-tunes that this show had to accompany them is what made this show special. All the high-school primetime dramas had them, but Everwood had other, more mature and social-commentary like material of course, but even did these moments just a tad better.

@bobdy9988 I had 3 boys who would sometimes act like "nobs" when they were teenagers, and I was a Dad like this. I never got mad much, because we were so close most of the time we ended up doing something ridiculous like tickling before anger could build up. With teenage boys you got to realize sometimes they act like 35, sometimes 5, and you got to learn their moods. I was fortunate I was able to remember how it was for me at 13-19 and acted accordingly.

When it came to “Everwood” I appreciated every character, especially the father, but couldn’t stand the son. Ephram came off as whinny, disrespectful, and a lack of emotional intelligence.

@summerlemon91 ~ I totally agree. That was such a powerful scene. My heart breaks for Colin and Bright AND Ephram. What's amazing is that there is no bad guy in this scene. I'm crying right now just watching it. Colin is really suffering... but of course Ephram didn't deserve what he did to him. And Bright not fighting back was what really made this scene incredibly moving and sad. Great show!!

Colin wasn't crazy. I for one don't think that. The reason why he even had anger problems is because of his sickness. As we find out later in the series, he wasn't getting any better. It was getting worse and it was affecting his mood.
