You can definitely reach the end. It's undoubtedly a grind, but anyone with even half a plan (or a lot of patience) can do it. You just have to find an approach that you enjoy and gets you where you want to be, whether it's mining, artisan products, slime ranching, etc.

Thanks. It was quite the ride. I'll probably go back to the game and play offline at some point -- I will beat Journey of the Prairie King without dying one day -- but we need some distance from each other now.

I genuinely feel bad killing them - whether they're fit or wounded. I love dogs... I love wolves. I probably have 500 hours in TLD. But I've never once savored wolf-killing. I don't mind shooting the bears because I've just had SO MANY encounters with bears in TLD where I am out cooking or wandering in a blizzard or something like that and they jump-scare/maul me. And I don't really care about downing deer or moose (because, frankly, I've lived around both IRL, and they're just incredibly dumb animals). But wolves? It's never not pinched just a little - even after all these years in the game.

That's totally fair. TLD is probably a rough play for someone who loves dogs and can't stand hurting them. There's just so many more wolves than anything else, especially on Stalker. Kudos to you for sticking with the game despite that pinch. There is the option to turn off all wolf spawns in Custom mode, but obviously that comes with its own annoyances (no feat progress, etc.).

Pretty much, yeah. I like to think of it as Hinterland not-so-subtly pushing players to go places they otherwise wouldn't. Signal Void sends you to HRV and BI -- two places people love to avoid -- and eventually the whole Far Territory. Getting back to TLD's roots as an exploration game, if you want to put an optimistic spin on it.

That's from the UI Info Suite mod. Like the NPC Map Locator, it doesn't change the gameplay at all but does give more info so you can make better decisions. I got UI Info Suite off Github, but it looks like they'll be on Nexus Mods as well: github.com/Annosz/UIInfoSuite2/releases

I was talking about the well placed one-shot kill at close range. As far as the wonky rag doll effects go other then an coyote I seen hit while it was in mid sprint no. Most things I've shot with buck drop over stiff then go limp, kick about a little then die and sometimes they just drop straight down. You said the game is in beta so maybe they'll improve it soon.

Not quite as annoying as the vanishing sticks when I was in desperate need of firewood on NOGOA, but still deeply suboptimal. Remember the Loot Goblin's Creed: "but what if I need it later?".

Done and done. Fortunately, the combination of the bear carcass and the cabin made for a great windblock and I didn't need all that much firewood.

@@trooperbari Agreed, I goofed up on one the other day, shot the bear with an arrow in thr neck, turned to climb the rope behind me and for SOME reason tried to climb by pressing E... lol, I didn't realize my error until after the mauling!

My sister was able to get her marriage annulled even after having 3 kids because she was able to prove to Church authorities' satisfaction that it was never a "true" marriage, although I don't know what the criteria was.

I think "Bloodfather" equals "person who turned them", i.e. "sire", so Meddy is probably talking about the same person as in her other session. IMO the previous time she was focusing on the magical part, so she referred to the druids. In this session, she's discussing her interactions with a specific clan. Apparently either each clan has its own druids and the Neill clan's druids did it, or else the druids are a separate group and the Neills called on them to do it. I do wish it was spelled out a little more clearly though, but I know from my own experience that it's sometimes difficult to remember to include all details for someone who's hearing the story for the first time, especially when it's hard to talk about in the first place.

Thanks. I might not have been 100 percent sure, but I was pretty certain there'd be a wolf there. I've done Darkwalker enough to know there's a consistent spawn of 2-3 wolves near the campfire, and since the fire is only "active" when you're close enough to it the wolves can wander in and give you a scare if you're not paying attention.

I guess I've never been sold on the flashlight. It's extra weight that's only situationally useful. Plus, all things being equal I'd pass on searching for aurora loot caches anyway. Loper-level loot isn't worth the risk, and below Loper you're probably not hurting for loot in the first place. (This clip is from deep into a 500-day run, when I was searching for anything that would keep me on task and not making dumb decisions. Fat lot of good that did.)

In terms of total wolves, perhaps, but I don't think I've ever had all of them run out to greet me at once. Usually it's one or two with the rest hiding behind a hill or lurking in the back of the lot. I guess their enthusiasm just got the best of them.
