So many of these comments are so judgemental. All people are different and all relationships are different. If more couples had open and honest conversations maybe the divorce rate would be less than 50%. My wife and I have been married for 42+years and there was a period of about 3 years that we did play with friends. Once curiosity was satisfied we went back to our monogamous state. We had fun, our communication improved, and we had no regrets. We still laugh and joke about it to this day and are still good friends with the people we invited in. Just because other people have different lifestyles from what you believe is proper doesn't make them wrong, they are just different. Everyone should do what is true to their heart, but judging other people is what is truly wrong.

Glad it worked out for you your one of the 5% that had their marriages survive after opening it stats dont bode well for open martiages. I'm not condemning the lifestyle but imo it's something that needed to be discussed PRIOR to marriage. If not the other partner was robbed of the ability to make an informed and conscious decision as to how or if to proceed with the relationship. My problem is her blindsidding her husband in front of her friend. This is something she should have discussed with him in pvt. It's almost like she tried to back him into a corner. That imo was just wrong and could have had disastrous consequences for them and their marriage and family.

The real reason your marriage failed is that she was cheating on you with her coworker and when she left you for a week she was living with him to see if they were compatible. As soon as she told you about the coworker she was telling you that the marriage was over. As sad as it is she was not ever truly in love with you, you were just the safe choice and when the coworker came into the picture you were done. I think this is a perfect example of why less people are getting married now, it’s just not worth it. Also if you are chasing after a woman and she is blowing you off then stop trying because if she does decide to date you it’s not love you are just holding a spot until she finds love.

That's a real possibility not to mention the legal ramifications. Hope he saw a lawyer and had an iron clad agreement in place prior to his donation. Is he OK if she finds a partner later on and wants to move away with "his kid" what are his finicial obligations?? That's true. There'd be complications subsequently, like as you say their love would diminished and Grace would find herself an excuse to cheat. Laura, is likely to collaborate with her side and strengthen their position against him. She might even scheme to rid of Grace and take her place, as after all, her child belongs to him. Or, both might even go for threesome with other men.
