Trish... Have you always used this swing? If not, how did you unlearn the mechanics that you had been taught, that cause so many problems? That's a problem I am having... I'm finding it hard not to move my body first, rather than have my body respond to my arms

Hello there, thank you so much for your comment and your question.… I was basically self-taught when I first met (Manuel).… I had achieved my apprentice status with the PGA/LPGA.… So I really was kind of a clean slate when I first met him. Honestly, it really is more mental work than anything. It’s like you have to let go and trust what you are trying to accomplish and trust the fact that it will work. Hope that helps.

I enjoy your videos which are always interesting. By the way, I think you have improved the quality of the audio on this one. Maybe using a different mic, or maybe it just wasn't windy? Would you maybe move the ball a bit further up in your stance for a driver off a hight tee, to avoid hitting down on the ball and creating too much spin etc?
@815TeeTimeInc7 күн бұрын
Hello there, thank you so much for your comment and your question.… Yes, I did change microphones.… Yes, you can adjust the tea height, depending on wind and trajectory that you were looking for. And you can adjust ball position.… But I still keep the club centered.

Hi Trish! Does the idea of maintaining ‘soft hands’ apply to a full swing, or is it more specific to short game shots like chips and pitches? If it does apply to the full swing, how do you balance soft hands with maintaining control and power?
@815TeeTimeInc14 күн бұрын
Hello there, thank you so much for your comment and your question.… Yes, I try to maintain soft hands throughout the entire golf swing.… That being said, the pressure in your hands will change naturally due to the speed with which the club is swung. Maintaining a sense of constant pressure is probably the best way to go. Does that make sense?

is the left arm straight or bent at the top of the backswing?

You asked about future instructions; what are we looking for in the form of guidance. I for one struggle with transition from back to downswing. Tips?
@815TeeTimeIncАй бұрын
Hello there, thank you so much for your questions in this comment. First of all. It’s not a downswing it’s a forward swing. That will help if you just switch your vocabulary …. I know it seems trivial but I’m serious Try thinking of it this way….. The swing must complete in both directions In other words…. Allow the backswing to finish before the forward swing begins… Look for a video soon😁

How high do you tee the ball for the driver? Do you hover the club off the ground before the back swing so that the club face will have the optimum contact with the ball on forward swing? thanks
@815TeeTimeIncАй бұрын
Hi there, thank you so much for your comment and your question.… As a general rule of thumb, I put the T height to match the top of the golf ball.… So basically when you put the tea in the ground, it should be as tall as the golf ball. That’s just a general rule of thumb. No, I do not hover the club. I believe that creates tension in your forearms.
@bobgsearchАй бұрын
@@815TeeTimeInc first, let me thank you for your quick reply. I will try putting the tee in using the ball as a guide, then place the ball on the tee. My "advanced maturity" often gets in the way of my thinking ability...Last request, are you aware of any instructors in Chicago area teaching the Manuel philosophy? I am sorry that I live too far away from you to take advantage of your teachings. Best wishes for good health..

With lumbar spine issues, I started flaring my left foot, but not my right. No wonder I got more pulled shots left (not hooks but long pulls), and it's like my body turn is too fast, and Im not square at impact. I took your advice to the range and then played 9 holes flaring both feet just about 3 inches, and now my shots are way more on target. A well-balanced position really helps. It's great to swing again with low or no pain. Thanks,Trish ps. I don't know why I was flaring just my left except that it felt better without paying attention to the effect. Joe in NW PA

@815TeeTimeInc I'm 70 and started golf 7 years ago using the Earnest Jones and M. de la Torre swing concepts much as you teach. With my back and leg issues, if it wasn't for this methodology I don't think I could play. This year my partner and I played below our hdcp.s to win our league. This year I became a solid bogey golfer playing off 17. Part of this is from referring to your videos when somthing is off in my swing, etc. Thank you Trish very much again for your generosity.
