Somehow I think story driven parks will stay fresh whereas thrill ride parks are on the way out. Simply because bigger and faster has limits too. Seen the once, seen them all. Story driven parks need maintenance because the story stays the same. Whereas the thrill seekers demand new coasters all of the time, one time thrill only. 😂

The Efteling is still working on Danse Macabre. At the moment you can see Esmeralda in the catacombs but the hide more down there. The danse will most likely change a bit to show more of the catacombs in the near future. The backstory of the ride is very rich and unique for the Efteling. Ton van de Ven already had the idea to put the conductor in Spookslot and made drawings of that, so Jeroen Verheij took those drawings, the history of the music piece and Spookslot-elements and just build a new backstory and ride around that. The Efteling is an family park. They don’t cater to just one age group. There is something for everyone in the park. What they miss in thrill they make up in theming. The still operate on the design-principles that the first designer Anton Pieck set. It has to be made just like the drawing.

@LoopThemeParkAdventures You might want to checkout how the Wheelchair user can actually enjoy their fellow park visitor in a separate room. At least that was one of the mentioned stand out features of that ride: Wheelchair users can enjoy it too even though they can't be seated (it seems). Don't think others mentioned it, and I actually wonder how that might function. 😂

Villa volta was the original Madhouse, former Efteling head designer Ton van de Ven had an idea of a rotating house and the attraction type madhouse was created in collaboration with Vekoma.

@@LoopThemeParkAdventures The same goes for Danse Macabre. Efteling wanted an attraction where you get the feeling of dancing to the music of Dance Macabre, it is of course the dance of dead. And with that idea in mind, they consulted several suppliers to see if they could make something like this. Intamin was the only one who dared to take on such a challenge, and that is how Danse Macabre was created. And I think it's fantastic that Efteling always dares to try new things because there are more prototypes in the park.

@@LoopThemeParkAdventuresThat is certainly true without Intamin the Flying Dutchman would never have been operational because the supplier could not get the attraction to work, it was of course also a prototype haha and Intamin managed to break the curse of the Flying Dutchman haha.

I don't know why I wanna learn of this ride, it looks boring AF. You spin in a single room with lights going off and on and music.. it sounds like a ride I loved as a very little kid with my family at the beach. A Scrambler shooting lazer lights in the dark with loud club thumping music. Must be nostalgia.. this seems no more advanced than that ride. 😂👌

Seems like you know Nothing about this ride and are pulling stuff from your ass.
@kevinpetit386919 күн бұрын
It's pretty much an experience. It isn't a thrill ride (and was never sold as one), it is a family ride with a spooky/scary theme. And they succeeded quite well with it. There are parts of the ride where it really does spin quite a bit and dishes out quite a bit of G-forces, but that doesn't last that long - Efteling isn't about the thrill. But with the theme, the music, the ride.. it works great. It really does.

De Efteling is all about story telling. The ‘ride system ‘ is secondary. And the waiting line is also part of the story. You don’t ‘wait’ and then ‘go on a ride’. You immerse yourself in a story where in the end you Dance with the Dead.
@QDude2419 күн бұрын
The story is about the Music competition that was held in the abbey back in the day. This is where conductor Joseph Charlatan performed the Danse Macabre with his orchestra. They vanished after the performance, prompting the abbey to be abandoned and left to decay. They didn't actually vanish though, they where killed and cursed by the "Unnameable", a shapeshifting monster mostly disguising itself as a black kitten. The entire first part of the ride (that you didnt film) was the monster walking around your bench in the total darkness, the creepiest and the part of the ride in my opinion
@LoopThemeParkAdventures19 күн бұрын

The ride system itself was thought up by Efteling. They went to multiple manufacturers to see who was willing to develop it, landing on Intamin willing to do it.
