In 1982 on the Mountain Music tour I met drummer Mark Herndon during a break of the band playing softball 🥎 against the local radio station DJ’s. I was a beginning drummer and asked him how to play the fast part on Mountain Music. He showed me with his hands on his legs explaining it was a paradiddle-diddle between the kick and snare 🥁. He said to learn it slowly listening to Ride the Train from the Feels So Right album. I’ll never forget how kind he was to a young drummer and a total stranger! I’ll always love the Alabama band!

WHBQ deserved better than what they had when they were an ABC affiliate. Cheap graphics, and cheap custom news themes... come on. It's no wonder they were stuck in last place. If WHBQ was owned by either Belo, Freedom, Cox, LIN, or any other broadcast group; 13 would've had an major upgrade.

Claudia Barr is the Queen of Mid South Television News being the longest serving female anchor EVER in Memphis. Get this: in the video clip she looks the same as the day when she retired! Extremely beautiful and ageless!!! Same in the early 80s.

My B-day

I know Claudia Barr, personally. Went with a mutually close friend of ours and painted the inside of her house, back in the day when she lived in the "Burbs". I know the Morgan's/ Morgan's Air-conditioning and Heating, Robert Bates Properties (RIP, Bob), and the Gillock's, to name a few respectively. I'm not an old gander as of yet, but hopefully I'll get there! Thanks for bringing back good memories with these nostalgic uploads, my friend!🍻✌🏽
