Yes... I miss this event.... We and Co employees of mactan int'l airport in 1980's...and my mother n my wife and I... In every October we celebrate the fiesta of Sto. Nino in mactan airport.... And the last one is in 1984 and that is the last I celebrate the fiesta before I left go abroad.... I miss the SENYOR SANTO NINO.... FIESTA....

IMO, this jingle doesn't really do justice to the airport dubbed as resort airport. May I suggest to GMCAC to hold a nationwide competition or even just province-wide contest to search for the best song that aptly describes Cebu and this airport. The lyricist and/or composer should be a true-blue Cebuano so that he/she could really express his/her authentic love for Cebu. Because if you have an authentic feeling about Cebu, you can come up with the most sincere words or feelings for Cebu. This jingle sounds so generic and not a 'music to my ear'. There are lots of great Cebuano songwriters and composers. However, if holding a competition is too much of a task, I suggest you talk to the copyright owner of the song 'I Love Cebu' to use it as your official MCIA anthem.. The song won the Dance Music category during the Cebu Pop Music Festival in January 2014. The song was composed and written by certain Russel Alegado, a Cebuano. The upbeat song will definitely compliment the festive atmosphere of a resort airport when played, setting the visitors' mood to dance the moment they hear it. The copyright of the song is now in the hands of Cebu Arts Foundation, Inc being the grand prize winning song during the Metro Cebu Pop Music Festival in 2014.
