did one rear bearing hub today on 10 years old GT86, expecting it stuck like this one, luckily managed to get it out with hammer, but the axle nut needs heat multiple time to get it loose.

Hey there, thanks for the comment! I drilled the holes in the flat baffle plate welded into the rear of the muffler (the plate that surrounds the tiny exhaust hole on the back of the muffler). I still ride this motorcycle! If I didn't explain it good enough, I could make a video for ya to show you exactly where the holes are drilled. Maybe with some ride-by exhaust clips too!

same thing happened to me on my 350z .. right side went real easy..but left.. could never take the darn thing off. after hours..i brought it to my mechanic and he did it with heat.. !

The oxygen and acetylene torch is a lifesaver when working on cars here in northern Ohio. Expensive to get but worth it since I work on a lot of cars. If you ever have any questions about fixing your car let me know and ill try to help ya out! I work on japanese cars exclusively now

Maybe you'll be able to one day! I got this one for $500 from an ex-girlfriend's dad maybe 11 years ago now haha. Pushed it like 10 blocks home but didn't take much to get it going! Still riding it now.

I have a noise coming from my right rear, told wheelbearing, I have the rear axle set, just this weather needs to be golden on the weekend for me to attempt this.. if only I had a garage.. thanks for the insight 👍

Thanks for posting. That’s disappointing and a lot of people use Wix oil filters in their BMWs but if this was a normal failure you’d think you would hear more about it within the BMW crowd.

Yeah i would think they would be out of business if it happened all the time or was a common occurrence. I was just kinda pissed at the time. But I still dont use them haha

@@YouLikeToast Yeah I’d be pissed too, you think you’re using a quality product only to find out it might not be, I’d hate to ruin a BMW engine because of a $15 oil filter. I installed one in my 1998 Z3 a few months ago, I hope I don’t see that same failure when I do an oil and filter change next year, either way I’m going back to OEM. I only do 1500 miles a year.

Sorry to post on a old video but my dad passed me down his kz550 and I'd like to keep it looking stock but make it sound better did you just drill out the existing holes with a larger drill bit ?

I think I had 5w-30 motor oil in my oil dropper at that time haha. But you can use any lubricant. Motor oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, fluid film, etc. I try to stay away from wd-40 and white lithium grease because they don't work as well

@@YouLikeToast i tried Moly grease and no good :'( molybdenum disulphide is the grease, and it didn't work :'( perhaps i hit the wrong spot or didnt quite get the right area.

Grease is heavier/more viscous and therefore maybe cannot penetrate and drip into the crevices as well. Try a more liquid lube

Mine was a royal pain to get it out.... and the splines were stuck on the cv shaft. Also used my bush hammer to loosen it

Man that is hard when the splines get stuck! Thats why i always put grease on the splines whenever i have them out. Hopefully it's a vit easier for the next guy (or me) down the road

@@YouLikeToast always antiseize the ones i do. Worst one so far was a front wheel bearing on a 2007 prius. Never fought one that hard.... heat... 15 pound slide hammer and big bush hammer for the win. Thought i was going to have to take the knuckle off and press it out....

I guess you could release the four screws holding the bearing assembly just a couple turns and then hit the bolts from the inside and it should help release it.

It's worth a shot if you're having trouble and you don't mind getting new hub bolts in case you deform the bolt heads too much

I have a Honda CRV and a Mazda CX5. I looked up the Bata rating for these filters, they are different. They make filter to the spec of the manufacturer as far as I can tell.
