It does add a bit of extra weight to it. If you hold the iPad up like you would without a case at all, then you also have to hold it in the flat position because it doesn’t lock. What I tend to do is sit up, lock it in the keyboard position and rest it like a laptop. It’s easy enough to get back out. But do you really want to be taking it out and putting it back in on a regular basis? Thanks for the comment, interesting question. I hadn’t thought about that

GamerKitty it doesn’t charge, it uses a single watch battery which lasts a lot, not the super small ones, the plain circular ones

Thanks Kinseres, no I can't say that I have. The keyboard itself feels solid when typing. The material that it's made with ie the fabric is quite thick, so I imagine it should last being opened and closed for a long time. Also, I have had no random disconnects from the keyboard, whilst I have been using it. So very pleased with this product.
