Lovely and super cozy vlog🍁🍂🥰 I'm in desperate need of reading the assistant to the villain. Also, I have the same problem with caffeine/tea. The worst part is when i tell the baristas decaf and they still make me a regular. I have instant panic attacks.

Oh my goodness! I’m absolutely so obsessed with the hunger games. It’s one of my favorite series ever!!! So worth the read. And honestly, the other books are just as good if not more

We Were Liars was the biggest "huh?!" for me, it was a disappointment to say the least 😅 I feel the same way about Divergent like you feel about Legend.

I happened to have loved two of these books, and I know everyone has different tastes but maybe try to give them a second try! First, Legend was amazing and kept me hooked for majority of the book. We were liars- the writing style is different but that’s why it’s *unique*. I agree with you on Carve the Mark- it sucked. The books I regret buying are Legendborn- for info dumping. And Powerless- because it was so overhyped and it was literally just a hunger games-selection-red queen fanfic. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. *bow*

I may give legend a try before I get rid of it. We were liars was really hard for me to comprehend. I actually like legend born the idea is cool but yess too much info dumping. I loveeddd powerless Ik it’s very similar to other books but I still liked it

Fortunately I have gotten out of the “I regret buying this book” because nearly all the books I’ve read were from the library or given to me (whether it be borrowed, present, or books people were getting rid of) Most of the books I have bought were from Mckays (used books where you bring in books and they give you cash that can only be spent there. Since it’s used, everything’s quite a bit cheaper. I love it there) - if you look them up, their website says there’s three locations in Tennessee and two in North Carolina. I highly recommending you bring the books in you don’t like if you’re ever in one of those areas. - though shifty stuff has happened there, so you might want to bring a friend or two. I’m pretty sure I’ve only paid full price for around 10 books. I have a decently full bookshelf just from people getting rid of their books. The library is fantastic as well. With my library’s online system, we can ask for them to send in books from the other libraries in the state. Sometimes it takes a handful of weeks for books to come in, but I can nearly always find a book I’m looking for, so long as it isn’t niche. Which means NO REGRETS! :D

Thank you so much for the tips!! I use the Libby app through my library so I get free e books and audiobooks which is amazing. I also love my library as well. Some of these were books I bought with gift money and I went on a spending spree book haul. I also work at Barnes&Noble and get a big discount so I sometimes impulse buy when I’m working. But I’ve learned and haven’t bought a book in months

This is going to be controversial (at least to BookTok), but for me I am so glad I didn't buy We Were Liars. A teacher of mine had a class copy, so I read it, and I thought it was very derivative of Fight Club. Another book I'm glad I didn't buy was Yellowface. The premise hooked me, and I generally liked most of the book, but the lack of payoff/lack of a satisfying ending tanked my enjoyment of it. I spent a good part of the book waiting for the protagonist's downfall because it's the whole premise of the book, but it was extremely unsatisfying, and in the last few pages of the book it pivots into a ghost story which I didn't care for.

I read so many of these books between 2012-2014, the darkest minds, legend, divergent and shatter me were really popular back then. The darkest minds and divergent are both movies too,!

I also sell books that I don't love to my students (the ones appropriate for their ages) for less than a half of the original price, and the rest I donate them to a library that's owned by a retired teacher that used to work with me. I don't see any value on keeping books that didn't give you joy or make you want to read them again someday. I also recommend not following the trend of buying a bunch of books that tiktokers recommend nowadays, since half of them are not worth it and it's just a waste of paper. I finished Ash Princess from Laura Sebastian last month and I just bought the other two, that series is definitely worth it so far. You should check it out!
