Excellent review Sixgun. I am a big Buck fan. I have about 23 or 24 Bucks. Some are with their regular 420 steel, some with D2, one with ATS-34, one with CPM-154, several with the S30V and now two with S35VN steel. Love all of them I have three of the Alaskan Guide Series knives. I will just say, that anytime you buy one, make sure the blade edges are the same and are even. Many times, they will not be. I will just say, Buck's quality control is bad. Of course if you get one, where the edge in not good, you can always send it back under their warranty. I have sent back two. Again, thanks for this very good review.

Nice review. I ordered myself one of these from the Shepherd Hills website. I have the peanut from the same line and it's great. Now I want to carry something with three blades! I also prefer that blade finish over the mirror polish that's on most of their other lines. When I open delivery boxes it seems harder to wipe away tape residue off the polished blades.

Thank You for replying to my comment. One thing I should have mentioned is after all years & usage, the hinge & blade lock is as tight as the day I got it. I also made a modification to it. I machined the point off to a slight angle because of all the kids around while doing Tote & Chip. Turns out after machining a bevel on the front, it's a pretty good gasket scraper & wood chisel. LoL
@joecat3393 ай бұрын
Great Video !!! In 1973 my wife gave me a 110 our first Christmas. I carried & used it every day for fifty years. It's been in every weather condition. I do a lot of camping. It helped issue numerous Boy Scout Tote & Chips. I used it to process wood, cooking & every other function you can think of camping. I'm an electrician & my 110 has stripped is fair share of electrical wires & cable as well. No job is to big for a 110. Around my 70th birthday, July 2022, I decided to retire my 110 on its fiftieth anniversary, for fear of loosing it because In my mind, it's now a family heirloom. So I told my wife that I was going to retire it on our last camping trip of the year which is the second week of December 2023. For my 70th birthday she gave me a new 110 with the s30v steel & it's engraved Happy 70th !!! Needless to say I used it once camping & it's in the heirloom box with my fifty year old 110. I got a 112 Ranger s30v I now carry on camping trips. It's not much smaller than a 110 & every bit as rugged as the 110. I'm retired now & for my EDC I carry a smaller Leatherman skeletool CX. FYI along with my 110, back in those days my EDC with the 110 was a pair of Klein 2300 Scissors, & mini AA Mag Lite. Thank You -- Joe --

Funny enough, I am looking at the same tools but starting from the opposite direction! I carry a Skeletool CX (and feel naked when I don't have it) but I am serioulsly looking at the 110. Obviously the 110 won't replace the CX but it will be a great fancy robust addition! And also something to remember my great grand father: last knife he bought was a Kershaw Wildcat which is a japanese 110. The Kershaw is too precious to me but I wan't to make him proud and I can't find anything better than a Buck...

@@sixgunslingin ended up finding one on sale! In europe, seems only 420HC is available so thats what I got! Overall quite happy. Function is real smooth. Opened, that blade is rock solid, no play. But closed, the blade is way off center and has a fair amount of side to side play. My old japanese Kershaw is much better in that regard. The blade does not have the Bos treatment logo. Sheath is nice and solid though the leather has a plastiky feel to it.
