If it's not already obvious... Music is run by the devil. And as a Christian music producer its hard to admit that sometimes Sometimes I get this friction of "should I quit music because the devil is the ruler of it?" As we know, satan is the angel known for music and sound hence his ability to use music to influence us all to negative things that pull us away from God So should I quit music because it's evil and demonic??? My answer is NO!! The reason is because God was the one who gave you the vision of music. Of producing chart topping songs Or playing in big festivals Or making masterpiece songs that inspire others Just because music is the devil's natural ability, doesn't mean music is demonic and you shouldn't pursue it Infact it's the opposite. In my view, God has called you to use music as a way to attack the devil! By winning souls to Jesus Christ by making music which glorifies Him! King David, who defeated goliath, was known for also playing many instruments and making music as a way to praise and worship God! So music inherently isn't demonic, but it sure is powerful for influencing people - hence why Satan uses it against us So, as a producer and music maker, God calls us to glorify Him and make disciples THROUGH our music, sound design, productions, songwriting, etc. Hence why as a Christian and producer, you do NOT need to be afraid of entering into music and growing into a scene that is blatantly wicked It's our job instead as the 'light of the world" to shine God's glory unto those in the darkness... And to share our light with those who need it most Remember, no one healthy goes to a hospital Likewise, no one righteous needs Jesus or God But those who are unrighteous and living with the wages of sin I believe God is calling many of us young people and music producers to step up and shine our light on the music scene To make worship commonplace and praising God second nature through influencing the thoughts of our culture via music May The Holy Spirit be with you and let's become demon slayers with our music 🗡️📖 ✝️🕊️🔥

1 Call and response - just like how a conversation has an equal amount of talking between everyone, so too does as good drop. Make sure your sounds fit together and almost “finish each others sentences”. You can do this by pairing long sustained sounds with short staccato ones, or using filters and automating them in interesting ways. Sound Design and selection is key here 2 The bigger they are, the harder it drops - the better and bigger you make your buildup, to more tension and release your listener wants. This makes your drop feel even more powerful and fresh in contrast to it. A good tip to make sure to use lots of layers, especially in dance music. Also, speeding things up helps make more tension 3 Fake outs - sometimes pre maturely ending a buildup or adding an extra bar to the drop before it hits can spice things up. just note to make sure your songs flow and rhythym don't get ruined as this trick can really make your song hard to dance to when transitioning from the build to drop 4 Rhythym is key - as the name implies, dance music is abotu dancing first! If you nail a really good rhythym, it becomes 10x easier to make powerful catchy drops - especially when you pair that with good sound design 5 Arrange in chunks - if you’re able to expand on your drops by adding a B part to it, say after 8 or 16 bars, you can massively boost the listeners enjoyment and dopamine of your song. This is because your drop becomes way more exicitng and fresh and less repetitive and stale. If this was helpful, i have a sound design community where we talk about all this and more in detail every day and week on calls with challenges, custom samples and more if you want in, give me a follow @mysticartsmelodies And comment below the word “me” and ill send you a DM with the link #edmproducer #musicproduction #sounddesign #producertip

so you already know the basics of sidechain (if you dont, you can check on google, it will only take 5 mins) but did you know there are multiple use cases for sidechain, and not just the typical trigger from the kick? here are 2 of my fav ones that I just had a call with my sound design community on (if you want to join, follow me and message me the word “community”) first is a mixing one and thats to sidechain your sub separate from your other instruments I think theres a really unique sound that you get only when you sidechain your sub to align perfectly with your kick its glues your track better and it gives everything that extra touch of professionalism. its also easier for mixing and it sounds amazing on speakers the key is to make sure you align your sub to the tail end of the kick otherwise it will not achieve this effect second is a creative effect that doubles as a mixing use and thats to sidechain your delays and reverbs to the dry signal of the instrument or group. thsi can be a bit tricky to explain with without showing you what I mean but basically, you want to duck the volume of the reverb and delay whenever the original “dry” signal is playing. This creates room in your mix and it also makes your sound less muddy and clearer and more powerful and present - this is honestly one of my favourite tricks to do when I have a longer delay and reverb you can do this on vocals and on leads and it will sound great! there are more uses for it but I dont have the space to type it call 😟 what do you use sidechain for aside from these 2? comment and lets discuss! #edmproducers #edmproducer #mixingtip #sounddesign

After a decade as an edm producer, I've learned some valuable lessons. Here are 9 quick takeaways for you (and a bonus tip) Embrace Your Unique Sound: most times, your unique sound comes not from what you want it to be, but from what you naturally end up trying to make. Meaning, you will always feel a bit of “meh” with your own sounds. But if you are pushing yourself to do better each song, thats all that matters becuase you will never be 100% happy with your songs sound design - so you need to at some point embrace the things about your sounds you find meh! Invest in Quality Gear: top tier DAW and plugins and gear makes your productions easier and better. take some time to research and find the top tools for you and invest into them Learn Music Theory: Even a basic understanding of music theory can transform your tracks and make them more compelling. Music is abotu storytelling, theory is your vocabulary and ability to describe your story with vivid imagination. Learn theory + pair with sound design and you are one of a kind Network and Collaborate: Connect with others in the industry. No one is an island one big reason I started a sound design community was to help producers feel more comfortable and confident in talking to and reaching out to others with their music it was my biggest fear for a long time and it was the biggest thing that changed my musics reach once I started to do it Stay Persistent and Patient: Success takes time. Be prepared for setbacks and stay committed to your music. Keep Learning: Keep improving your skills and stay current with new genres, production techniques, styles, sounds etc. Understand the Business: Learn about, promotion, marketing, how labels work, people psychology, sales, branding etc. Prioritize Health: having a healthy body and mind makes anything you do (especially music) 10x more effective with your creativity and productivity Seek Feedback: Constructive criticism helps you grow. Be open to feedback from peers and fans alike - which you could also get from a community of producers who you can trust to give honest feedback BONUS - Enjoy the Journey: Remember your passion for music and celebrate your progress, big or small. It might not seem like you are going anywhere or that youre wasting your time and should just focus on your job but theres a lot more unexpected wins you would never be able to imagine if you simply stick it out and be patient with it Having again a community of other producers who are ahead of you, at your level and even behind you (in experience) can really shift your perspective and renew your commitment Peace, Vig

Hey man. Idk if anyone else has asked for this type of content but honestly, there's already a bunch of BS surrounding the Psyche of music production. I'd rather watch you make music from start to finish. Make an hour long or two hour long video showing how you make music how you arrange music. what's the thought process. what techniques you use like the serum one's that you showed in one of your earlier videos. Ik it's easy for me to say this but I would honestly definitely appreciate getting a peak into another producers workflow. Some examples are Bound to Divide, Sadowick Production, Virtual riot has a few videos where he makes music, the producer school

yuh, its been a while But here we are! heres some things I learned the hard way, hope they help and if it did, give me a follow @mysticartsmelodies Adaptability: The EDM industry is always changing. Genres fade in and out and so does the meta for pop culture. Things are really only the same for 3-5 years then it shifts slightly. Be aware and willing to adapt! Mental health: As you likely know, there's often a struggle with mental health due pressure to make good songs, network, get more plays etc. Its helpful to think of what your next step is vs the 1000 more you have to do (or think you have to do) before you are confident in your songs. Networking is key: I feel in every post I say this lol but that should show you how important it is. No man is an island and as edm producers especially, we tend to try and do things solo. I think making songs and ideas solo is good but after your songs are ready to go, its important to have friends and a network of producers who can help you promote, give feedback, advice etc. You never know who knows who. Theres a stat that you are only ever 6 people away from knowing anyone in the world. CRAZY! PS - im making a sound design community where we are having weekly Q&A calls, sound requests/custom presets, lessons and networking and more. im in the alpha phase now and just need 1 more person to join! if you want in, make sure to follow me @mysticartsmelodies and comment below ‘community’ and ill message you more info Passion vs business: This was a tough one for me. While the love for music drives many into the EDM scene, sustaining a career often requires mastering the business side, including managing finances, building a team, and making strategic career decisions etc. Lastly… be real: As you grow, it becomes harder to stay true to your artistic vision and what you initially set out to do when you first started. You unknowingly find yourself chasing trends and while this has a time and place, dont let it get the better of you - that only leads to more frustration long term Hope this helped Peace, Vig #edmproducers #edmproducer #sounddesign #musicproduction

Most of your favourite sounds are made with basic shapes and basic post processing Like sine waves, saw waves, square Waves etc The key is combining those simple shapes with even more simple post processing like distoriton, filtering, modulation, compression etc. Now the more tricky part is learning which combination of wavetables and post processing and modulation creates the sound you want And of course, there are more roads to the same destination meaning there are ofcourse multiple ways to create the same sound So its helpful to learn from others, whether thats on youtube, courses, in networking groups etc. PS - im close to starting the sound design community I mentioned earlier, probs in the next 2 weeks Its a new place where producers come together to all network, learn sound design, give feedback, and grow with each other I’ve got just 3 more spots open for this alpha phase this is where its a smaller tight knight group and where I can test out the community, see what you guys want, and give more personal help for certain things If this sounds like something you want to contribute to and be a member of follow me @mysticartsmelodies comment the word “community” below and Ill send you a DM with more deets Peace, Vig #edmproducers #edmproducer #sounddesign

Overlapping Frequencies: They may have too many elements competing for space in the same frequency range, leading to a muddled sound. Lack of EQing: They might not properly EQ each instrument or track to carve out its own space in the mix, resulting in a cluttered and indistinct sound. Excessive Reverb: Overuse of reverb can smear the sound and make it difficult to distinguish individual elements in the mix. Poor Panning: Incorrect panning decisions can lead to instruments and sounds clashing with each other instead of complementing each other. Compression Issues: Improper use of compression can squash dynamics and make the mix sound flat and congested. Inadequate Monitoring: Not using accurate monitors or headphones can make it difficult to hear problems in the mix, leading to muddy results. Lack of Arrangement Clarity: A cluttered arrangement with too many elements playing at once can make it hard for the listener to focus on any one part of the mix. its to challenge myself with restrictions restricions?? yeah, like ill purposely limit my creativity or what I am allowed to use for the song on purpose! I wont use the best samples I wont make sure my mix is “professional” I wont use the certain instruments/synths im used to I might use random samples from tiktok memes I might limit myself to only 1 hour to finish the song I might make an entire song from just a single sample All these things break me out of the pattern which Im so used to with producing and it challenges me to be more creative your creativity is endless like you can virtually do whatever you want but having that freedom actually makes it hard because if you can do whatever you want… where do you go? what do you do? when do you stop? Like you can’t answer it becasue its endless so long term, like over multiple projects, its ok to have no creative restrictions. But shorter term, like song to song, having some restrictions can help you break out of famliar patterns and draw out interesting ideas you dont normally get So try restricting yourself in your next song and “limiting’ your creativity its what im doing in my new sound design community each month, we will have challenges for producers to level up their sound design and creativity Combined with a network of other producers in the same challenges, and with different backgrounds, genres, experience level, the feedback we give each other is one of a kind If you want to signup to join the first ‘alpha’ phase of this community and be part of building something incredible for other producers while learnign sound design and connecting with other likeminded producers, Im looking for just 5 more producers to join this alpha phase if you want to be considered, 1 follow me @mysticartsmelodies 2 comment the word community below and ill DM you 1 minute quick application form peace Vig #edmproducers #sounddesign #creativity #mindset #edmproducer

3 things I should have done 7 years ago 1 Prioritize learning the ins and outs of music production software, sound design and even just the basics of mixing and mastering techniques. A bonus would have been understanding music theory. 2 Start looking out for collaborations with other producers, vocalists, and artists to expand my network and gain exposure to different styles and perspectives. This also would let me learn a lot from other people who have a different approach to things I would never have thought of doing unless I met them 3 I should have networked and documented more, taken more notes of my progress, joined groups etc. While I don’t think you have to share all your initial first songs (especially if they are bad) You can at least build and audience around you learning producing, sharing your insights, sharing your personality, thoughts etc. Im building a community for edm producers to learn sound design. Im looking for 12 producers to help me build it out so it impacts a lot of future producers positiviely And it also will help you right now to network with each other adnd learn sound design together. If that’s something you want to be a part of follow me @mysticartsmelodies and comment below “community” Ill DM you more info #edmproducer #sounddesign #musicproduction

its to think about your track like its a story, with a clear beginning and end Imaging your’re taking a road trip you start with a smooth highway (intro), gradually ramp up with winding roads and steep climbs (build-up), hit the peak with the breathtaking view at the summit (drop), then cruise down into valleys (breakdown) before navigating through diverse landscapes until you reach the peaceful destination (outro). Each part should offer a different experience, but still aligned to the same end goal you initially set out with - which was a road trip I know, this is kinda esoteric but as producers, we are also storytellers Instead of pictures/videos, we use sound design instead of scripts/words, we use lyrics So the more you can look at your song as a complete story and pair that with good production skills and understanding of general song arrangement, you’ll always be making engaging songs PS Im creating a sound design community and Im looking for 12 producers to help me in the alpha phase of the community You’ll get to help me build it into somethign thats going to impact a ton of producers and its also going to let you learn more sound design, and network with other producers if you’re interested, follow me and comment below the word “community’ and ill DM you more info #edmproducers #musicproduction #songwriter #songwriting

Template Tracks: Create template tracks with commonly used instruments, effects chains, and settings already set up. This can save you a lot of time when starting new projects. For example, have a template for drums, one for basslines, one for leads, etc. This way, you can focus more on creativity rather than setting up the basics every time. Sound Organization: Keep your sample libraries and presets well-organized. Tag your samples with keywords like genre, instrument type, and mood. This makes it easier to find the right sound quickly when inspiration strikes. Also, consider creating custom presets for your favorite synths and effects so you can access your signature sounds with just a few clicks. Parallel Processing: Utilize parallel processing techniques to enhance your sounds. For example, instead of applying heavy compression directly to a track, duplicate the track and apply compression to the duplicate, then blend it with the original using a mixer or bus. This preserves the dynamics of the original while adding weight and impact. You can also use parallel saturation, EQ, and reverb to add depth and character to your sounds without losing clarity. If these helped, give me a follow @mysticartsmelodies and comment below “system” if you want a free guide I have for you #edmproducers #mixingtips #musicproduction

either objectively, your mix bad or its all in your head and your mindset is bad or maybe you’re like I was and both your mix AND mindset suck If thats the case, dont worry, Ive got the solution for both… its to get feedback!!!! Yes, super easy but also something we don't like doikg for lots of reasons Maybe they say our songs bad and that hurts our feelings Or maybe we dont know if we can trust their opinion Or maybe we just never thought about it seriously before Regardless, getting this feedback is crucial Einstein said you can't solves problem on the level it was created. Meaning you won't be able to effectively tell how to fix your mix with your own ears (until you are experienced or well trained) You instead need to find an external perspective, ideally someone who can make the mix quality you want and then get their feedback and perspective on it And you wont have to do this forever… Its really only until you learn your own individual biases and how to correct them with practice and good reference and mixing skills If this helped, give me a follow @mysticartsmelodies and comment below “mix” and Ill see if I can help you learn to mix your song better and help you with soem feedback #edmproducers #edmproducer #mixengineer #mixingtips #mindset #musicproduction

I used to think that a single synth or sample, with enough playing around, would get me the sounds I hear my favorite artists using. Like it has to sounds full, and powerful and present and lets not forget interesting and unique too but thats expecting wayy too much from a single sound. Instead, my tip for you is to separate out functions of your sound and use layers! Instead of solely relying on a single synth or sample, try layering multiple sounds together to create a richer, more complex texture. And then experiment with processing techniques like EQ, compression, and saturation. This way you can have each layer complement each other and combine to seem like one, powerful sound Super saiyan sounds lol For example, if you want a present, full and wide bass in your song, you don’t have to do it all in one synth. You can use one synth for the mono signal (power and presence) with a sub and some saturation for harmonics in the middle. And layer this with a spearate synth that has more unison voice, saturation and a low cut eq (so it doesnt clash with the first layer) then, you can route these to a single group/bus and then apply a glue compressor, eq, more saturation etc. This not only lets you control more aspects of your sound, its also easier to create unique combinations since you can change the layer accordingly and it will affect the overall sound in a subtle way Theres a lot more to this I dont have the space to type out but if this was helpful, give me a follow @mysticartsmelodies #edmproducers #sounddesign #musicproduction #edmproducer

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. If you don't believe its possible for you to create and finish incredible songs, grow your artist project and even to take it full time - you won't. Not because you suck and can't - but because your lack of belief means you won't seek out the right knowledge or do the work required to be successful. Its that simple. This isn't just for music. It's for your entire life and anything you do. Family Fitness Finances Relationships The extent of your success hangs on your belief in what you can achieve. So the #1 you can do right now is to say; "I believe I can make music on the level of my favourite artists and I believe I can reach my ideal lifestyle". It's hard to think like this when all the proof you have might be of the opposite - but ask yourself "what's the worst that will happen if I start thinking like this?" You don't get a label release, your music quality doesn't improve, your music doesn't get heard around the world? Achieving even one of those is worth starting to believing in yourself - let alone all of them which my students and I have done. I say that not to brag but to show you that if we can do it - so can you! But it ALL starts with the simple belief in yourself that you can achieve your goals. The only way to overcome your fear is to move through it and act in the direction of your goal, in-spite of fear. A lot of times, our fear comes from what we think others we care about might say if we fail or don't do well in their eyes. But at the end of the day, would you rather regret NOT giving it your all and living for other people's opinions OR Would you rather face your fears, achieve all your goals and live your best life? Everything you want is on the other side of fear - so believe in yourself and push past it. If you want more help with overcoming your mental blocks stopping you from finishing and releasing your songs, Follow me and comment below “𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭” and ill see if I can help #edmproducer #edmproducers #mindset

Starting all your songs from scratch every time is 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐄! I used to do it and it was terrible I would never be able to get down my ideas fast enough and would always forget what I had in my head One day, I had enough of it and I decided to try something different Instead of working on music, I took a step back and thought up a strategy A strategy for me to get ideas out faster without hating all the ideas I started and finally finishing and releasing songs And it was super simple too looking back All I did was systemize my workflow what does that mean? It means to make starting songs as easy as possible, no blocks or constraints to creativity. That means both practical things you can do in your DAW AND your mindset around how you produce I dont want you read forever here So I made a separate indepth video that shows you how to do this if you want it, 1.follow me @mysticartsmelodies 2.DM me the word “𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦” and Ill send it over #edmproducers #musicproduction #edmproducer #creativity #mindset #writersblock

1. Boring Sound Design: In EDM, unique and well-crafted sounds are crucial Using presets without customization makes your track generic and uninspired - spice things up with new ideas or asking yourself “what if I do this instead?” and working with whatever results you get. This makes you more creative too 2. Neglecting Layering: Layering adds depth and makes your track sounds more interesting and helps fill out your mix. NOT layering results in thin and unexciting sound. 3. Forgetting Transitions: Transitions between sections make or break your song as a whole. bad (or no) transitions disrupt the flow and energy of your track. 4. Ignoring low-End: The bass is the most fundamental and important frequency range. Having an uncontrolled basses weaken the impact of your songs and make them sound amateur 5. Over-Compression: Using excessive compression kills dynamics. Be especially careful when your applying compression to the low end - its a delicate frequency range. 6. Too little or too much Stereo Widening: we tend to always want that wide sound - even when we are not at our mix or master yet. Adding too much puts your track out of phase and makes it lose all its energy and power. not enough makes our track boring and flat. Balance is key 7. Lack of Attention to Detail in Build-ups and Breakdowns: These sections are crucial for creating tension and release. Being lazy in these parts make your song less exciting and engaging. 8. Mixing at Inappropriate Levels: Mixing too quietly or loudly can skew your perception of the track, leading to inaccurate decisions during the production process. 9. Ignoring Variety: Repetition is a key element in dance music - but overusing the same patterns or sounds without introducing variations makes your tracks boring. 10. Disrespecting song writing: Neglecting to create a standout melody or general song writing and theory makes your track forgettable in the sea of 120,000 new songs every day. If you don't believe its possible for you to create and finish incredible songs, grow your artist project and even to take it full time - you won't. Not because you suck and can't - but because your lack of belief means you won't seek out the right knowledge or do the work required to be successful. It's hard to think like this when all the proof you have might be of the opposite - but ask yourself "what's the worst that will happen if I start thinking like this?" "What if I fail" (fear of failure) The only way to overcome your fear is to move through it and act in the direction of your goal, in-spite of fear. A good acronym for fear is: False Events Appearing Real A lot of times, our fear comes from what we think others we care about might say if we fail or don't do well in their eyes. But at the end of the day, would you rather regret NOT giving it your all and living for other people's opinions OR Would you rather face your fears, achieve all your goals and live your best life? Everything you want is on the other side of fear - so believe in yourself and push past it. I can't tell you how many times I was too scared to start posting content and how many years I wasted because of it. I had only started to make content just over a year ago. Had I started even 2 or 3 years ago, I'd be so much further along with everything. Rejection is instant, regret is eternal.. which one costs more? There is something called the "Pareto principle". It says 80% of your results come from 20% of the work you do. Essentially, your inputs and output are not linear in payoff. Social media content is like this. You don't need to have a ton of time or put in a ton of effort to make social media content that works and is sustainable long term. The 20% of your time you spend on creating content, will result in 80% of your artist project’s success and growth. They key is to learn the fundamentals of good content, reverse engineer that into your style/artist brand, and then put that into your system AKA make it part of your production process! This way, you don’t have to spend a ton of time working on content, you can simply focus on creating and finishing good music and leverage content to promote and also test which ideas of yours do well. Hate it or not - a key part of being a successful edm producer today lies in your audience and social media. If you want some help with this whole thing and leveraging your songs into content without spending extra time on it, comment below “system” and ill msg you to details. make sure to follow me too otherwise I might not be able to send you a message (due to your accounts privacy settings!) #edmproducers #edmproducer #musicmarketing
