To be fair, a nosebleed is not an entire month's worth of nasty, smelly old blood. You can get it out, but it's really not the same thing.

It is only within the last 100 years that this was not the norm. Now we have improved materials, automatic washing machines, running water, indoor plumbing, etc. I don't know a single person who has a period that hasn't had to wash something blood soaked into. Underwear, towels, bedding, clothes, etc.

Lol not too different from washing my bloody underwear, or if it gets on my pants, etc. Sad how stigmatized periods are.

Dumping used pads into salty water letting them soak overnight and then starting the wash cycle will also help remove the blood and prevent staining.

Interesting. I have never seen the soak water dumped into the washing machine. I always just pour as much as possible into the toilet if I use the method for soaking. I have a front loader so pretty certain this would not work but I love learning about all the different methods.

Why wouldn't you wear grandma panties when you've got a heavy period and have to wear a pad, though? Wouldn't you be worried about ruining your nice ones? Besides, people with really heavy flows are more concerned about not ruining the clothes over their underwear than how nice their underwear is

The flex foam pads are the best iv ever used ..they changed my life ...they are very thin also ..these look cool. But im telling yall platex infinity flex foam ...try it. .im definitely going to give these a try im just worried about it being to thick ..i dont want to feel it all day or have it showing through..i work a lot so i need something strong. Hopefully this will be just as good as the flexfoam .❤
@softtacoreusables
@softtacoreusables 6 күн бұрын
These are going to be thicker than those flex foam pads, but they also hold significantly more. Even our regular pads would hold about double the flex foam of comparable size and these gusher style pads can hold more than our regular pads. If thin and trim pads is what is most important to you then I’d suggest looking at our regular reusable pads as they are definitely thinner, but if you’re looking for maximum absorption, these are going to be one of the best options out there.
@lhgilbert95
@lhgilbert95 6 күн бұрын
Have to say that reusables are way thinner and hold way more than I thought they would. I have also noticed significant differences in my flow over the last few months of completely moving from commercial products to reusable products. It doesn't matter what products you choose to use but do your research on the products. The FDA doesn't regulate what toxins nor makes the companies that produce disposable products label those toxins. Those toxins are causing you to bleed more. Do your research. From someone that has fibroids and super heavy flows, and seeing the HUGE difference that reusable products make, it's definitely worth the investigation. I was super skeptical. And it took me a very long time and a lot of research in to what causes heavy flows, to make a more informed decision.

I used flex foam for a long time and then realized… I’m putting plastic and foam on the most sensitive skin on my body. Flex foam is not natural and my skin would get irritated by the third day of my period. Switching to natural products has been an adjustment but knowing I’m not putting chemicals near my most sacred body part is peace of mind.

It's less disgusting than bleeding through your pants bc of a thinner pad. Back when I was in school, I was in construction class (all guys except one other girl). I bled through my light blue jeans during that class😢 The other girl helped me. I'd rather have to wash a more absorbent pad than for that incident to happen again 🥲

Pads don’t do anything like that for you. You can’t cover up misinformation with “oh, but it might not happen for you!” Your flow and side effects of your periods are genetically predetermined. However, there is a bit of evidence to back up my side, it’s called the placebo effect. With this context, it basically means you’re looking for change because you changed something else, meanwhile nothing is truly physically happening. There is one thing I will hand to you though. It might help with rashes and allergic reactions because of the change of material. Reusable pads are better for the environment, plus they’re stylish.

I tend to agree and it wasn’t my personal experience but the sheer volume of people that reach out telling me they experience a shorter less painful period since switching does make me pause and question. I’m a pretty small business and still receive this comment multiple times a day and the longer I’ve been doing this the harder and harder it becomes to discount as coincidence.

Its very sad. I used to have very light periods, disposable would have been perfect for me. Now I'm a grandmother, I sewed some for extremely light incontinence. When I cough hard!! I was using panty liners and I can't stand the smell, even if I don't have a drop of urine on it. These cloth pads are amazing, really soft and comfortable. I sewed a bunch. Thank you for your inspiration! And I hope young people wake up to how much better they are for your body.

If I were in thay situation I’d have the used pad in a waterproof bag and if they grab the bag I’d just say it’s my pad 🤷🏻‍♀️. But if that makes you uncomfortable to do you could just use disposables still in those specific situations.

@@softtacoreusables ummm with all the blood still saturated in it? Don’t you have to wash/rinse it out and place it in something as the ALL collect and then put it in a washing machine? Cuz just ONE bloody pad tossed in a washing machine is not going to be practical. You have to STILL collect them and rinse them out with easy use multiple times a day. So disposable ones seem to be the way to go. Unless you can explain the process better from application to discarding for the entire length of your cycle. The days of “isn’t this cute let’s pretend there isn’t some grimy thing behind getting this cute thing” are over. What is the process of using a modern day non disposable “BLOOD CLAT” (blood cloth aka cloth pad) that women will be subjected to.. cuz back in the day my mom had to wash EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM every time she had to change her cloth. She HATED IT. How will it be different NOW?
