I am from the UK taking my GCSE's (the final exams and first most important of our lives of what is known as secondary school) in year 11 (equivalent to grade 10 in america) and you helped me understand this way better than some british teachers I've had the pleasure of teaching me, so massive thanks and keep doing what ur doing, liked and subscribed

I usually think of these types of problems as "parallel resistors"; for example, if two resistors have ohm-resistances 4 and 12, then they will have the resultant parallel ohm-resistance (1/4 + 1/12)^(-1) = 3, and this would also be the number of hours that it would take for two persons to paint a house if each of them would take 4 and 12 hours, respectively.

Once you say 24x26=624, the problem is over! There is no need to carry on with the factorisation. Many students would know that 25x25=625, so 24x26=624 is an obvious solution without using algebra.

Just take square root of 624, then choose the even integers just above and below.

Thanks for this video. However, I have a question about the unit because when I traced it supposedly the dr/dt have a meter unit then the r has a m unit as well, do we consider it as m squared if we multiply it?

You could also use the formula of A times B over A plus B. A and B being the hours themselves. So 10x8=80, 8+10+18 80/18=4.44 the same answer.
