Some people never get laid off, some people always do. It has more to do with social status than ability. Low status people will never be allowed to become highly skillled. My advice is take their abuse and use the money to start up a business on the side. There you can have some control over your life and give yourself equal status to heal from this constant abuse.

Do you have the klein red white blue handle screwdriver set that came out a few years ago? I didn't see thoes it was only 20 bucks at platt or supply houses. I too have sons 1920s klein and son linemens that work just great still. Thanks for the kdistpan lead ordered one right away.

I spent $300 on hacksaws on this one job. Found them all in a pile on top of some duct work in the ceiling. Each one had names crossed off with the word 'MINE' written on it. Boy was the foreman mad everyone had to wait for the only and bandsaw available. Turned out to be one of the owners son just didn't want to be there so he made trouble. Imagine that. Let's blame the new guy. Hahaha. I was the new guy. They don't haze you like they used to. That was the jo I took some rmc to the neck over which left me grumpy for the rest of my life. True stories of the apprenticeship. I remember showing up to the school one day and the apprentice next to me was beaten black and blue by his father and still had to pass his math exam like that.

you get taxed at the end of the year, but you can write things off. Last year I didn't have to pay any taxes on it

If you press the power button quickly to turn on it will flash the light and beep when it detects, if you press the power button for 2 seconds then it goes into silent mode and only the flashing light with no audible sounds. Cheers.

I'm fairly certain that the staple you've shown is only listed and approved for NM cable. Overdriving the staple can very easily bend and therefore separate/damage the metal cladding segments.

The only thing I'm concerned about getting into the trade is the work life balance. I'm hoping going union can help with that but I just wanted your experience and opinion on if it's possible, thank you.

Good for you on the income. I personally made 167k before taxes in KY. How much is in your high yield savings? 93k? I made 1k in half a year with 40k in savings, making around 4%.

most high yield savings are around the same with small variants. Last year mine went from 5% down to 4% this year. There are others slightly higher , say around 4.3%

Thanks. I was having an issue turning 3 way switches into motion sensors but really only needed one motion sensor. This solved my issue with the 3 ways by just turning one of them into a single pole instead. 3 way switch issue is still an illusive mystery

What they don't tell you is how the book works during the apprenticeship. They told us during my time in the program you can't transfer but you can quit and forfeit graduation. Did your local handle it like that?

@@nono-pi6pw I was in the NJATC program and I was assigned to workers who were putting lives at risk. The school wanted us to report who wasn't teaching us anything and you could only imagine how well that was going for some of us. One foreman called me a whistleblower for calling out the hazards and he got me blacklisted so I never went back. The last thing the school chairman said to me was 'You must of pissed off someone important and we can't help you anymore. Just did my job was all. I will not waste my time and efforts breaking my back for the incompetent especially if they can't keep our insurance during Obamacare changes. You know what they told us? That it was the worst time in the Unions history to serve an apprenticeship. Anyway, I spend my days draining what parts of me got cooked helping the city upkeep its electrical safety. They tell you to learn to live with it no how to and so I get grumpy for GOOD REASONS! Those of you who survive may live to talk about it they said. Not everyone will believe you they said. Anyway, they made me into what I am and that is 'thoroughly used up' by one of the 'exceptionally privileged' hah. I shouldered conduit for those who didn't have the back for it. What an education.
