I have a hard time believing this is really Dan Browns daily, meticulously respected, routine. Dan Brown publishes a new book every 3 years on average, his last books took 4 years and one even 6 years. So that's 3x365 daysx7 hours, that is 7665 hours to write 500 or 600 pages, that's more than 100 hours per page, or 2 weeks of that regime to write a single page. Of course much of this time is spent searching for ideas, researching, plotting and outlining, but still, it seems rather excessive.

I was taught to write a scene without dialogue to convey a message. I try not to read screenplays. Breaking rules or making mistakes is the creative process. Ignorance is sometimes bliss.

That's so cool that you found what works for you. What genre of films do you write?

Which film would you like me to break down next? Also, is there anything specific you'd like to see from these videos where I share what I took from the screenplay? Let me know 🤗

Watched for the very first time a couple of weeks ago and was thoroughly disappointed with the ending. Just came on KZbin to watch the ending again and saw there was an actual ending to it!! Maybe time to rewatch and come straight back to KZbin to watch the full ending. Mrs Darcy 😊

This video needs a follow-up. I did the same thing and did not ask for feedback except from one contest. Still waiting for the feedback months later. I have gotten in front of film people in the biz and realized that often they are looking for work as well. I now think the only sure answer is to make it myself. I know that is hard but it seems more likely to happen than someone else will pick it up. Whatever route you choose, good luck!

Uh no? In Europe we just find the last scene incredibly cheesy. The ending with Mr. Bennet laughing in his study is quiet and perfect.

I LOVE transparency in screenwriting. I've been playing around with the idea of a script consultant so it was really great to see a writer showcasing that interaction!

The other point to add is that when you look at past "winners" of the competition,I have never heard of them or their movie or script!!! The competitions are cheats nd liars.
@chrisbyart7768
@chrisbyart7768 Ай бұрын
I had the same experience as you. These competitions are a SCAM TO MAKE MONEY!!! They don't care abut your work - imagine, a writer has worked hard, 2-4,000 scripts have been submitted - it is impossible to review these scripts in detail - I have written to all & most competitions and not one has writen back - all writers should boycott these competition, it is a waste of money!!!!

People need to be objective about their own writing and receiving feedback. Simply being stubborn to rejection, does not a good writer make. Thank you for encouraging people to grow their craft, knowledge, and skill - and not simply fly in the face of criticism.

Completely agree with the limitations. I have found that when Chat GPT creates a plot outline, it is completely handicapped in creating character dynamics. It doesn't have an idea of the back story of the characters, or their motivations to pursue a journey. Sometimes, it doesn't even add conflict into the story until it is prompted. Chat GPT, I feel, is good for ideation and brainstorming. It kind of supercharges your brain to fill in the blanks for its suggestions.

@Blue_rose_34 Ай бұрын
@@XOXO_isabelle2000 the protagonist is a doctor who recently moved to the city and the antagonist is a pyscho mafia who tortured people for his pleasure and this people become the patient of that protagonists doctor, she is a very brave and kind soul so she decided to fight for them and against the mafia but when the mafia first saw her he was stunned, in his childhood he was hated by everyone accept for one girl, his childhood best friend but she died in car accident and that protagonist was actually looking like his childhood friend. and that's why he had became a pyschopath due to the childhood trauma. he did everything to convince her but she was rigid and wanted to take revenge. the mafia was so in love now that he tried k*ll himself cause she hated him and he wrote a letter to her, after reading that letter the protagonists had a deep contemplation and her memory came back. cause she was that same girl, his childhood bestie who died in the car accident but she actually survived and just lost her memory and now that she had realized everything she went into tears and quickly ran to his house and he had cut his hand's vessels. She was a doctor, she did the treatment and in the end everything was sorted out and now the antagonist had completely changed and became a generous and kind person instead of a pyscho and mafia. the ending is the happy ending.
