You hooked me! Please do more on the animals, plants and geology of this range. I've had a picture of the Diablo Range that looks like it's covered in green velvet that you see on final approach to SJC as a screen saver for may years, because it's a beautiful and mysterous part of California. Tell us more about this mystery and it's history!

My uncle owns a cabin there. It was magical visiting. Sad to see governor ruining the entire state. But whatever I'm over it all now. **ck it.

I have driven the Del Puerto/Mines Rd legs more times than I can count. Every trip from my home in the North Bay to the south goes through there and back over Coalinga Rd from I5 to Hwy 25, or vice versa. Two of the most scenic and remote drives on the west coast. The full length of 130 must be seen to be believed. Just over the mountain from San Jose is a wildland paradise that probably less than 1% of the people are even aware of, much less have explored.

That was the worst possible ending to the video to scare people away from visiting. First he mentions spiders and snakes and then ends by talking about getting lost. Really bad ending to an otherwise good video on Mt. Diablo.

I've been obsessed with the Diablo range for as long as I can rememeber, and the more I learn about it, the more I wish I could explore it. The Ohlone trail and Henry Coe are great starts, but I wish I could climb Cedar Mountain and Eylar Mountain, or find the headwaters of the Arroyo Mocho, or even visit Crane Ridge. Its nice to know these landowners exist but it's also sad knowing that this land is widely a massive corporate cattle land.

Interesting how there were huge fires in the 30s and 40s. Before the big fossil fuel boogeyman could have been blamed for climate change. The climate does change and it is cyclical…. Not man made. We have no control. Regardless of how much money and scare tactics politicians want to throw at it. Good video though!

Great video...lived in Walnut Creek a long time ago and then in Blackhawk in the Tennis Villas where the deer from Mt. Diablo would come down into our backyard. We loved to drive up the mountain and have a picnic and enjoyed the peace and quiet up there. And what a wonderful sight in the spring when the wildflowers started blooming...I especially loved ❤ the poppies! We moved to South West Florida 24 years ago where EVERYTHING is flat and I really miss California and ‘my Mt. Diablo’. Thank you for sharing this great video!
