Some time ago I installed an extra 12V supply to run all my extra gauges. There was an empty spot in the fusebox so I used that.

Doy you know if this works in a Honda express2? It’s a 1979 model and your part a lot like my original one on my bike
@wannesfromwood2572 Жыл бұрын
That should work. As far as I'm aware the engine of the express and motocompo are identical.
@miguelpagansr6128 Жыл бұрын
@@wannesfromwood2572 thank you for the info, I kinda had a feeling about that. I might get it for my express, sometimes when it sits around and I put gas in it she leaks. I’ll try polishing the needle seat and see what happens.

Would you know if the carburetor is 38mm spacing for the mounting holes? I'm just worried that it might not work on mine, thanks.

Do you know what that metallic clicking / tapping sound is? My Motocompo has it as well and it just doesn't sound healthy for the engine.

You mean when it's running? That the 2-stroke sound. 4-stroke says "vrooom" and 2-stroke "ding-ding-ding" :)

Bro, from your video, i have question on how did you connect the Motocompo Fuel Cock. 1 inlet from the fuel tank. The 1 of the Fuel Cock outlets is connected to Carburetor. Question: how about another Fuel Cock outlet connection to where?

Awesome video. Do you know where I can buy that threaded black plastic piece that hold the choke cable to the carb? I just bought a ‘compo and mine is missing that piece.

Do they make a replacement carburetor for that? I looked here in the US but can only find an original one and they’re expensive, close to 200 dollars. A less expensive would be nice, thanks for the video and ride safe.
@wannesfromwood25722 жыл бұрын
They still make the QR50 carb new and it fit's perfectly. That also costs around 200$ so that's about the price if you want a new carb for a motocompo.

Which 2T engine oil did you use?
@wannesfromwood25722 жыл бұрын
I used a brand that's really common here called "Kroon" but any 2stroke oil for motorbikes will be suitable for the motocompo.

@@wannesvanhoudt6429 wow that’s nice! Here in Tokyo it’s a bit expensive for that even when it’s so simple on the motocompo. I was told 5,000 yen for the front and 6,000 yen for the rear 😬 I’ll need my own tools someday soon…

As fun and quirky as these are they are a safety hazard if I've ever seen one. In Amsterdam where I live mopeds are delegated to the roads in between the Range Rovers and trucks. so while I would like to grab it more often I end up picking the bigger Africe Twin.

Nice work! With regards to the battery, on the Facebook group Motocompo owners UK a few people have posted about their replacement battery setups. You can create a cheap battery that will fit in the original casing, however a voltage regulator will be needed to stop the bulbs blowing. Luckily I got the original battery on mine refilled with acid and it still holds a charge. I’m not great with electrics and wouldn’t really know how to install a voltage regulator
@Scuderia2000HD3 жыл бұрын
Haha, I just saw that you have already posted this in the group! Great setup, maybe a video on voltage regulators would be great as I can’t seem to find much, even in Japanese videos
