Thanks for sharing the modeling tips. After using air brush to spray Tamiya 87225, what cleaner do you use to clean the air brush? Thanks

Quick question, is it safe to airbrush without a facemask? I'm tempted to but worried of the potential risks
@johncrimmins15402 ай бұрын
Yes please do more of these! My wife bought me an old Tamiya Marder kit at a garage sale for 2 dollars a few years ago. Thought I should put it together just because. Turned out really well, for me. Had a bunch of fun, did some camo and she appreciated a lot more than my other stuff. Thanks guys👍👍

Like most, I use Tamiya with reliable and predictable "chipping" success. However, if you don't put a gloss coat down over your base, before the hairspray, you can easily "chip" down to the bare plastic. Disastrous results. With Mission Models, I have had zero success with "chipping." What you get is the paint smearing and coming off. It is an interesting effect but not the true "chipping" you get with Tamiya.

There 's a Bedford QL truck ,left over from WW2 ,near where I live , just dumped in an abandoned factory yard ! Such a pity to see it just rusting away !! Pretty sure it was built in Canada as it has a Canadian Military Pattern back end !! Shame it couldn't be saved !

Try Mr Rapid thinner when doing camo and black basing.
@daveforest282 ай бұрын
Hi Johnathan - I find the rapid drying thinner makes the finish too "pebbly" and I want the finish to be as smooth as possible. I do find it good for spraying a flat clear finish though.
@jerryvolpini79872 ай бұрын
Tamiya acrylic and MLT thinner - sprays beautifully, no tip dry and self levelling - superb results! Stinky as hell, though, lol. Btw, I love these shorter videos - they cut to the chase! Describe a technique and demonstrate it in practice - lets us see it come together. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the banter but I just dont have the time. Not saying you have to do one or the other but mixing it up would be nice. 👍

I remember these kits. They were available here in the U.K. and I bought the Navy Colt and the Derringer when I was about 12yrs old. They were amazing kits and I really enjoed making them. Those were the good old days. Thanks for the memory and a really enjoyable video. Stay safe and stay well.

I've had the same problem with them sticking but as you said you find a solution then things work out. I don't think there are many decals that look painted on like Eduard's. Have not used many after market decals though.
