But where is the nut that tightened into the drop anchor by the rod ?
@RODsDIYКүн бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean. Two nuts are used for tightening the rod inside the drop in anchor. The rod is used to hang something, like a steel bar or angle, which usually only needs one nut under it, although sometimes one might prefer a nut over the bar and another one under the bar so there is no movement.
@RODsDIYКүн бұрын
The nut doesn't enter the drop anchor, two nuts are used only to turn the rod, to screw it into the anchor.
@yasirmahmod6832Күн бұрын
@@RODsDIY im not mean the nut belong to the rod, im mean the nut belong to the anchor that lie or positioned in the top of the anchor that when you move the rod inside the anchor which in turn move inside the nut making the nut move back ( or down the anchor ) making the four sides of the anchor to expand against cementum ceiling or concrete ♥️🥰

@@yasirmahmod6832 The 2" long thread and the upside-down toadstool type nut I use to hammer in the anchor do not open the feet of the anchor. This bit of thread and nut are used only to push in the anchor when the hole is too tight. Ideally the anchor should go in easier than in the video. After I get the anchor well in, and remove the bit of thread, then I open the feet of the anchor hammering with the setting tool. At that point the anchor is set and it's inner thread is empty, ready to screw in a thread (in this case a long piece of thread).

@@maproductions8886 The problem I have with his comment is that the music, although maybe a bit loud, doesn't impede me from getting every single word even if I lower the volume to a level where I scarecely hear the music. What I understand by that is that he doesn't like the music. And I understand that. I can't stand Hip hop or hard metal, and it hurts my ears to have that music in the background. The only solution for that is either no music or softish music. For the time being I have chosen softish although I might change my mind. As far as I know, and I've been in this for the last 8 years (6 channels), videos with background music get more views.

@RODsDIY28 күн бұрын
One can unscrew the arial itself without removing the mount, but I don't know if there is a shorter arial or if you can cut the old one to make it shorter. In my case, where the long arial is a problem for covering the car with a car cover, I have the arial permanently removed, and that uaually doesn't affect the radio signal much except when leaving the city. And when travelling I put the arial on or attach a pendrive with some "music for the road": Blues and rock and roll to keep my eyes open, well concentrated or sing along with the tunes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was thinking about printing new characters on sticky back labels, and cutting them out, but inkjet will smear the first time you touch it. I just tried with printout from a laserjet printer, and it smudged even with dry fingers. I wonder if there is a protective spray? I guess you could laminate and cut out, and you'd only need use ordinary printer paper that way. My project is not for regular typing, but to set up a second keyboard for shortcuts and macros using a Logitech gaming keyboard and G-Hub, so it would not get heavy use.
@RODsDIYАй бұрын
Any ink based writing ends up smudged very quickly. Laminating means a thicker surface so you get different levels if you only fix a few letters. There is a transparent lacquer and varnish you can use which aren't too thick but I don't know how long they will last.

Good video, and my letters are starting to wear off. Makes no sense to throw away a perfectly good working keyboard, then buy another one for the same to happen again. I'm going to cut small square pieces of tape and cover them all. The manufacturers must know this and could make transparent plastic covers over each letter, but their in the business of selling keyboards. Should be outlawed, as these plastic keyboards will end up in the junk pile. Not good.

If the first test shows greater than 2 , then if you get a reading of .5 on the secong. that does not mean you have .5. Doesn't it mean 2.5 ?
@RODsDIYАй бұрын
Sorry Rick. I studied this aparent inconsistency and have come to the conclusion that that is a mistake. When diluting the sample in half - 50% sample + 50% distilled water and you get the first colour you must multiply the original result (0.1) by 2, that is, the result is 0.2 mg/l. And the same with all other results in that dilution. When diluting to 20% - 20% sample + 80% distilled water - you must multiply the original result by 5. The thing is, SERA delivers those results directly on the chart and you don't need to multiply anything.

@finnjacobsen6842 ай бұрын
@@RODsDIY I do have a great suggestion. Use only natural sound, the sound of your work, the sound of your voice. Music works to set a mood. I think that is wrong on instruction videos. Music is terribly misused on way too many videos, and licence free music is often just an insult to your ears and brain.
@RODsDIY2 ай бұрын
@finnjacobsen684 Thanks for your comment Finn. I think I'll have to have a poll in my community tab to see what others think, because it seems to me that people like to have some background music, at least in those parts where I don’t speak and when I speed up the video. When the sound of my work gets repetitive, music might help to not bore viewers. And there are other reasons one uses music: like hiding children screaming in the distance, dogs barking and neighbours music (that can cause a Copyright claim), but still, I’ll listen to what my audience prefers, and decide from there. I much appreciate your suggestion.
@finnjacobsen6842 ай бұрын
@@RODsDIY Having worked with video editing for more than 20 years, I think I know what I'm talking about. I never used polling to find music for my work. I understand your concern for your viewers, that's why I think you should challenge them by not using muzak, but instead concentrate on live sounds.
@RODsDIY2 ай бұрын
@@finnjacobsen684 a Poll is not to find music, a poll is used to find out what my audience prefers. The truth is, using music in some contexts, as well as not using it in others, in my view, are reasonable strategies, but I'm willing to change that if my audience prefers something different. The same with the kind of music (hand in hand with the mood): Hard, soft, romantic, relaxing, and live sounds, used appropriately can be very effective in creating a good experience.

Personally not recommend using a keyboard sticker. As you continue using the keyboard, sooner or later the sticker will move, leaving sticky residue on the side. The whole thing is a goddamn mess. The best course of action is to either (1) find replacement keys on the internet (which is hard AF) or (2) buy a new keyboard, which is....not so efficient at all, considering that your keyboard is still working (and will continue to work) flawlessly. This is especially true if you're using a moderately expensive, Bluetooth keyboard, not cheap ones that you can just carelessly throw away.
