Hey darlin, if one understands detachment you would never pray for detachment. To be detached means you are as dependent as one can be. I depend on the people to keep making water, gasoline, electricity. I can take a 250$ quad from junk to bring asked what I want for it, I have remodeled my own house, I have a garage and the tools and resources I can build/improve anything I desire. I have hobbies and interests that don’t require any participation of others. True detachment requires a connection with god and trust that all is as it should be and are released from any obligation to anyone including family and friends. I don’t answer calls or questions and I know it hurts them and I understand but won’t play any inauthentic role to provide comfort. It means the release of need for the opposite sex strictly out of understanding realistic expectations of a partner but at the end of the day it’s not worth the drama or emotional baggage that comes with life. I’m not preaching not saying I live a life of elated happiness but have an understanding with myself and life that others can’t understand and attempt to challenge for whatever reason so one finds it difficult to even attempt conversation with others. Again not that I’m better or worse than I still love my family and genuinely wish peace for all but it’s not my responsibility to even attempt to carry any unnecessary mental, emotional, or physical burdens. So please stay attached because cause the road to detachment means the passing of who you are today and it’s takes a while to come to terms.
