Another thing I found out. Start car, warm it up. Then turn off. With a flashlight inspect the secondary bore/butterfly. If there is fuel pooled over the butterfly the vent hole in the fuel feed jet is plugged and fuel is being siphoned out of the fuel bowl onto the secondary butterfly.
@arne67878 ай бұрын
From what I have seen the primary side solenoid is used to prevent fuel leakage thru the idle jet when the car is not being used. When key is on it opens up to allow the idle jet to work. If that jet is plugged car will not idle but will run at higher rpms.

I have a corolla ae82 with the 4ac engine and the carborateur. Im having a slight issue where it runs rough at 2000rpm and at idle sometimes. It has been like that since i got the car almost 4 years ago. Ive replaced the sparkplugwires, the ignition module which was out of spec and kept it tuned up. I will try to rebuild the carb at some point when i have the time for it to try solve the issue. Im guessing just dirty primary jets and such. It is also hard to start when warm where i have to crank on it more. Ive noticed that sometimes i get worse fuel consumption normally its around 0.75 l/10km or 0.8l/10km but sometimes it shoots up to 0.9 or even 1l.

@@mechmattldschannel4105 That video link you recommend is also not good. Why? That coating or sealant that they applied at the end is the single worst thing you can do to a polycarbonate lens. On the front i just put some simple 2 inch spacers between the strut tops and the unibody, and will need fresh alignment ,couldnt do much more then that properly with out moding out all the suspension and drive train, big diff though!!! Good luck... I'd love to hear how it all turns out, or even see another a tercel vid!!!

Those are sweet cars, i miss my 82 Corolla..i can't really say any facts but skinnyer tires make less friction and better fuel mileage, there may be some tricks with the EBCV, maby if you could rig up a second or third EBCV off a gas vapor tank or something...i think there's a KZbin video of a guy running a lawnmower on fumes ,it's kinda the same concept....it'd need some experimenting though..not sure of I'd mess with the jetting too much unless you understand jetting and air fuel ratios..the most i could say is less air restiction the better mileage, including exhaust restrictions, you could run a bigger air filter , but would have less suction on the jets, so you wanna run a bigger or more rich jet and still keep your mixture correct, ....good luck on that, it is possible, let me know if your able to find something that works!!
