I could listen to these two 1000 times and not get tired of hearing it. What great artists can hold you like Mr. Fenelon and Mr. Larsen.

Total magic, certainly one of my favourite songs. I have Tony’s solo theatre organ recording of this somewhere. Beautiful. Jerome Kern would have loved this performance

Thanks for posting this video, Mark. Real archival material and well presented. May I assume that the opening music was provided by Vic Hammett?

Many thanks Mark for posting this video. I was there at the opening concert and it brings back so many memories. This instrument has turned out to be one of the finest theatre pipe organs in Melbourne and it would stand up well against many theatre organs anywhere. Having played it many times myself I can attest to the quality of the workmanship in it and it is a delight to play. Knowing some of the history of it, there have been times when it was doubtful if it would ever play again. Bruce Ardley and his team had painstakingly worked on all parts of it, with the help of Julien Arnold (your father) in bringing it all together as a wonderful instrument to both play and to listen to. The acoustics of the Malvern Town Hall are excellent as well and really suit this fine instrument. May it continue to produce beautiful music both as a theatre organ and a fine classical instrument as well. Well done everyone connected with it.

Some say the greatest jazz piece ever written - Kern's work done justice here by two lovely, modest, but such talented musicians. Thank you so much....

Thanks for uploading. I moved to Melbourne from the UK in 1969 and was quick to discover the Dendy and the fabulous Wurlitzer. I saw most of the Australian theatre organ luminaries of the time perform on this instrument, and also Lyn Larsen. On one occasion Tony Fenelon was performing. The hydraulic console lift had a leaky seal and the console kept slowly subsiding. Tony amused us all by periodically cranking an imaginary handle to raise the console - assisted by a burst of the pump. A truly beautiful instrument with a sweet and distinctive sound. A credit to all those who have lovingly restored and maintained this lovely Wurlitzer.

I attended Lyn Larson's concert at the Brighton Dendy, Melbourne in the early 1970's and saw Tony Fenelon play the Dendy Wurlitzer, and the magnificent four manual Wurlitzer at the Moorabbin Town Hall, plus several other Melbourne venues. He had black hair then. Both Tony and Lyn are extremely talented and it was great to have seen them live. Thanks for up-loading.

Totally fascinating. Installation of such a beast is just as interesting as the music that comes from it. All the best from England.

Thank you. On the Eve of Valentine's Day, aged; living alone with my amazing cat, Ms Tallulah, I happened upon this. I have loved theatre organ & piano for years & played piano & pipe organ myself. So many people's faces and voices pass through my brain's living archives of people known briefly and for lifetimes, all who live within me as beloveds.

Absolutely marvelous. Tony and Lyn are a perfect pairing just as are Simon and Richard, and at one time Chris and Jelani. Although Lyn is retired, it is wonderful to see him still performing when he does.
