Do IEP's use these types of teaching methods ?
@dyslexiclabs
@dyslexiclabs 4 ай бұрын
It depends on what is written in the IEP. Some places will and some places won't. They can be very general about what is put in the document. They normally don't name specific programs used but will describe it. If you have more questions please let me know.

Not just reading but that includes note reading as well. I play the violin and reading and memorizing peices have always been different for me. I have to be extremely careful about practicing a mistake because the mistake will be learnt faster and "stick" much easier then the correct musical note pattern.

Best thing I ever did was reading to my children every night. Somehow at a slower pace, with no hurrying I was able to comprehend what I was reading. This was a game changer for me. If there was something I didn’t understand, I would record reading it out loud and recording it. Then play it back and hear and learn rather quickly.

I copied whole chapters onto a notebook, word for word, but color coded for reference. This helped me retain the information more . For math i also color coded my work for example when i did subtraction it was red and addition i would do it in blue . It helped me visualize the problems , specially in complex formulas.

The example with 0 is actually the model for 0 <div> 12. There are 0 objects divided into 12 groups. 12 <div> 0 is undefined. If you have 12 objects, it is impossible to put it into 0 groups. Additionally, please bear in mind that there are two types of division. In each of these examples, the divisor is the number of groups and the quotient is the number in each group. However, the divisor can also be the number in each group, with the quotient being how many in each group.

Hey, awesome video!!! May I ask how do you keep track of things by recall? - by this I mean a few weeks back you may have found an answer for a problem related to a task. Then as time goes on the same question or problem appears.. I don't remember that I have had a look and concluded this in the past few weeks to a month ago and get called out by a peer or coworker for duplicating efforts or wasting time only to come to the same conclusion

There's are about 5 different forms of dyslexia. Not all dyslexics have problems reading and writing. My form of dyslexia I have a terrible sense of direction and bad short term memory. Very strong intuition and we are natural empaths. Sensitive to the magnetic field, people's aura's and even appliances and devices. I play my flute by ear. We are very artistic. I also have a photographic memory but that is quite common for dyslexics we think in images and visualize when thinking. Good video overall. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in school when I was 12. It runs on my father's side of the family.

Hello, thank you for your video! I have been suffering for YEARS and for at least a few years now I’ve had a suspicion that I have a form of dyslexia, especially that which affects executive function. I have a few university degrees and struggled through most of it - particularly with having to give presentations and writing papers (information sequencing).. now I’m trying to teach classes and I am having the same issues. I really need help and I’m not sure what to do or where to turn.. It all feels like an uphill battle and I believe it has affected most areas of my life.. my ability to communicate with others 😞 do you have any advice on where to get testing / help for this disability?

I’m 50 I was lucky to have a teacher from a university who also had dyslexia she knew how to change the way dyslexia children learn she has changed my life in 4 years I was able to write and read no problem the issue is the schools the system it’s that children with dyslexia learn in a different way because they use the right side of the brain more then the left it can be corrected absolutely with the proper teachers who specialize in dyslexia it’s not a disability nope

This breaks my heart, the emotional scares behind misspelling something are real. I would start with a screener dyslexiaida.org/screening-for-dyslexia/dyslexia-screener-for-adults/. Then look for someone locally to help you. These test can be expensive.
