Can you tell me what is the plugin you use that allows you to incrrease the number of trees in your scenery? Very nice effect. Is it usable in XP11/mac? Thanks for the great tutorial.

I have been trying to fly a helicopter for about three weeks now. I have left a lot of crumpled metal on the landscape. Was about to give it up when I happened on your #1 video. I was immediately impressed with your comments about "Retreating Blade Stall", LTE, etc and wound up watching all five episodes in this series. After doing that I launched the B429 and made a few setting adjustments per your advice. I should add that I am operating with a CS Eclipse yoke with yoke, lever and paddles mapped to cyclic, collective and yaw respectively. I took great pains to be sure to lift the nose an inch or two, "taxied" to a nearby runway, turned, rose up a foot or two, hovered, lowered. Did that again and then slowly rose up to 100 ft. Came back down, hovered, landed and stopped. I then did a complete flight to another nearby airport and back, landing at both successfully. I am now hooked on the B429 and your excellent instruction ability. The one area that eludes me with this machine is the autopilot. I managed to get it engaged and follow the route, holding altitude at 1200 ft. However when I wanted to descend I could not get the aircraft to do so without killing AP altogether, which I did. If you know a good tutorial on this subject for this aircraft I would be grateful to check it out. In the meantime I have subscribed to this channel and look forward to more excellent guidance on flying eggbeaters. Thanks! -Steve Haines

Thanks, I really learned a lot! I do have one question, though. It is obviously critical to get the aircraft trimmed. You kept saying you were pressing buttons to do that, but never showed what you were pressing. Does trim have to be programmed on my keyboard or joystick? I looked through the manual, but could not find how to do this. Thanks in advance for any help.

The comments on not being able to escape VRS without hundreds of feet AGL to spare are inaccurate. Look up the Vuischard recovery. Basically it’s opposite pedal and lateral cyclic and you side slip and dump the blades into clean air. Pretty neat maneuver

Hovercontrol.com doesn't exist anymore , well the shell of a carcass does . I like the 429 except I have issues still with the AP on it , so it went to the back burner , I have been flying the X-Trident AB412 (Bell 412) , and let me say I have fallen in love , thing pretty much feels like a super stable platform in flight as well as hover , even feels much more forgiving in a mishap , has a heavier feel so when there is an AP glitch (not often)the aircraft starts to drop like a rock but has all the power to catch itself just as with all helicopters requires good attentiveness and much practice . Will say I'm pleased with my own advancement in rather short time , shh little secret , the 412 was a favorite of mine since I was 5 or 6 years old as a kid was something I wanted to master , never got the chance on the real thing , most likely never will , so this has to do , and I like it . Anyway just wanted to let people know that website is closed it seems . PS : If anyone who reads this knows of a real good tutorial for the 429's AP let me know , eventually I do want to perfect that model as well , well probably down the road a bit , having way too much fun with the 412 for now ........

It depends of your expectations, the Bell 429 is realistic in term of aerodynamic and he's free! So this helicopter is realy fantastic! If you look for a more challenging helicopter in my opinion the Robinson R22 (also used in real life by many pilots for the PPL(H) training flights) is realy realistic but also more complicated at the begining. An other one is the Bell 407, the areodynmic is realistic, the controls also so like the R22 it's a more challenging one at the begining but with a litle bit of practice it's a real pleasure to fly with it. The problem: R22 and B407 are not free. It's only my opinion I fly 90% on x-plane 11 with helicopters so MY expectations (maybe you don't have the same, it's important to keep this fact in mind) are a realistic and challenging helicopters. But the B429 is pretty great, free one, good aerodynamic, nice design so if you like this one maybe try the B407, it's only my opinion.

Love your videos. Can you tell me which X-Plane command is used, when you say about 5 sec of right trim, 2 sec of back trim and hitting the 0 key 3 times for left hand roll? Also if it is possible to show where are these controls on the Bell 429? Thanks.

Hello, when I first found your vid I thought, now my problem is going to be solved. It wasn't. I guess I did everything the way you did, but I can NOT get the Chopper in the air. Watched your vid so often, I almost know it by heart. Also watched th vids from Tom Woods. Read the instructions, hopefully the right, but I can't cranck the throttles. they won't move, not with F1 or F2, nor with the mouse. I manage to start the turbines, I hear them spool up, but the Rotor won't turn and accelarate. When I push the throttle forward I can only see the blades move in the collective way. After a while the turbines go down and shut off. Now what am I doing wrong? Spent hours in the net and watched countless videos, but I am non the wiser. As I fly some RC Copters from Blade, I would REALLY like to fly the 429. Do you think you can help me? (Or anybody else?)

Try turning off the AP1 & AP2 also the SCAS and the Trim. These buttons are located just to the bottom left of the Righthand display unit. Also check the stability augmentation settings in the Joystick settings, it has PYB sensitivity settings.

Did you ever get some people to show up on Hover control site to fly together? You might wanna consider advertising Hover control through Helisimmer website as well if they'd allow you to.
