My covert narcissist ex and her family did a brutal discard that sent me to jail for a few months, then while in they took everything i owned and sold it, when i got out i was homeless broke and with my gardening clothes. She also got sole custody. That was in 2017. Its 2024 and im living a half life and am considdering trying to start over but with no financial resources its almost impossible, considering leaving all behind. Even my body. 💩💀😢

How do we do this without letting it affect us though? I HATE listening to all her negativity. Your analogy is perfect because I feel like she just wants to vomit on me any time we talk

Many people set the bar so low, they actually end up tripping over it. If you clear it, it is not motivating and if you fail it affects your self esteem. Always aim high.

I got out of sync with my school work and haven’t been able to get past the hump of the work in front of me. I let it overwhelm me to the degree that I’ve procrastinated for an additional week. This is very helpful! Thank you for sharing these points!

Task management apps are good for gamifying since most create some sort of stats you can use to reward yourself. You can load many different tasks related to a variety of life areas and you can have your list fed to you so you don't have to remake it. Before getting apps like these I had a real problem with having to make up a new list each day, so apps have just been very helpful. The best ones link to popular calendar apps as well.

with the average inflation rate at 2.65% in the us in the past decade and assuming that the person who got this money from their parents being 20 (so 35 years until they are 55), that 1 million then will be worth what around 390 thousand are worth now. you will have spent your entire life waiting for an amount of money that right now, is less than the average price of a home in the us (416 thousand, second quarter of 2023) great!
